Well, after hours of bingsearching and checking out the forums, it appears that for SOME of us, Vault 3 is a no go....any savegame I have after releasing the prisoners in the cages in the rec area are corrupt. I was luckily able to find one savegame IN VAULT 3 but BEFORE I released those guys that allowed me to get the heck out of the vault and get back to the game world. Much searching and binging has shown me that there are a ton of folks out there having trouble with vault 3.

This is the fatal bug where the game will save okay but trying to load any savegames after that either cause a CTD or a 'corrupt save game' pop up.

Any thoughts and has gamesas acknowledged this yet?

Thanks all...regardless of the many bugs and even this sidequest killing bug, the game is a hoot (but I do miss the recorded messages a lot...seems like that should have been kept as part of the game).
