Weapon Repair Kits

Post » Sun Nov 28, 2010 10:04 pm

For any relivence my repair is at 100 and I have the Jury Rigging perk which is the norm in any of my builds.

If I try to make one at a workbench with excess of items required it just won't make them. All components are lit as there but still it fails to act.

Any idea why? Does it have to do with the combined perks or perhaps one of them?

Not bent out of shape about it granted but it sure would be nice to have some extras on hand. :sadvaultboy:

are you sure you have ALL items needed. The first time I played I couldn't figure out why I couldn't make certain items. Then I realized that I had to scroll down on the item list because it didn't show the last item needed.

Yep, and well over the amount needed. As I said, all items are lit and the numbers jive, it just won't produce one.

Can't help then. But after I finished dead money.was able to buy hundreds from the vending machine.so creating isn't as important.don't know if you have dead money or not.

Having multiple character builds you'll probably have made other items before but the only thing I can think of is that you're pressing 'A' instead of 'X' to make multiple items.

Not trying to insult your intelligence, just ruling out every possibility ;)

Well, looks as if I'm eating crow and handing out an apology to Auragamie. You were right, it appears I had not right triggered it to see full contents and that I needed a wrench. Apparently I am an id10t.

Again my apoligies for the dismissal, I was sure I had all of the components needed but I was wrong. Thanks for the suggestion of checking that out.

There was however another issue when implimenting them to a weapon.
I had gone to The Fort as I do every once in a whie to get some hardware to sell. There are two 12.7mm smgs that I picked up and went to use the WRKs to fix them.

I fixed one, then when I went to fix the second one the first one disppeared leaving me with only one unrepaired one. I did it twice to be sure I hadn't inadvertently used one to fix the other but sure enough, it did it again. I decided to seperate the two by giving one to Lily while I fixed the other, then at Gun Runners I took it back from her and it did it again, one disappeared.

I ended up backing up and letting her hang onto it until I sold one, then took the other one from her. It stayed and I was able to sell it as well.
That was weird, but there was definately an issue there.

That's the infamous 'item stacking' bug. Happens with clothing/armor too sometimes.
The only way I know of to unstick them when it happens is to take the one that's fully repaired & use it so it's not quite fully repaired. Or if they're items that are partially damaged but by exactly the same amount (when you loot bodies it happens a lot), same thing...damage one so it's not the same. (edit:it's also why I don't repair things to 100% most of the time, heh)

Altho I think sometimes if you drop them to the ground, when you pick them up again they'll separate. But not always.

good to know that I was actually helpful.Like I said, I did the same thing the first time around. But then again,I had written down the components for various items, only to be changed with the first patch.
I have the weapon stacking problem too.It gets annoying when you only have a few items but the weight is way too much.have to drop items one at a time/or put in separate containers.Didn't experience this until AFTER the first patch.
