Victor goes berserk

Post » Wed Dec 01, 2010 2:05 am

I was out and about doing random quests and exploring the landscape, came across the Brotherhood and finished their missions up until a point, but when I went back to my suite at the 38, I noticed Victor was dead outside of the casino. If I go inside, Victor is hostile and causes all the other securitrons to attack me as well.

Anyone know a way to reset this without restarting the game? I have quite a lot of gear in my suite and I've invested a lot of time in the game to be shut out like this. Like maybe resetting my relations with him through console commands? And also how to respawn him in front of the Lucky 38? He is the only problem. All the other Securitron's aren't hostile until he attacks me.

My first time in new vegas on the strip and victor greets me at the gate. Says mr. house wants to talk to me so I follow him to the lucky 38 and his face turns from cowboy to police and we walk right by the corpse of victor on the steps to the lucky 38. I zone in and get attacked by 2 securitrons and another with the cowboy on his tv screen, but listed as a securitron. No clue whats going on. Thought it was part of the game until I actually wiped them all out and got to the very top of the casino and discovered mr. house in all his....glory.

This is exactly what happened to me, except after I killed the first floor I reloaded to an earlier save. Victor's corpse wasn't in front of the Lucky 38 any more, but everything inside is hostile. I'm wondering if its because I took care of Benny and picked up the Side Bets quest before I went to see Mr. House. Either way, the Securitrons should not have been hostile until I attacked them. I can't complete any of the House Always Wins quest lines either. :(

Ouch.. thats harsh. I did my first playthrough, didnt finish the game but got far enough to know well about what everyones talking about. Victor never died for me on my first playthrough.. i havent made it to vegas yet so i dont know (im nervous because for some reason im hated?) but, ive never liked victor.. i just get such a weirc vibe from him... ya' know .. the way he followed you EVERYWHERE in the wasteland.. i know this because i caught him a few times (when i dont think i was supposed to?) hes fast though..

I'm actually on the second part of the quest right now - I gotta go to Caesar's camp. I had done this before in an earlier save, but hadn't turned in the first part beforehand and it sounded weird finishing both quests at the same time, as if he didn't know at first, but then it caught up.

I have a feeling I won't be able to complete the second part now that this is happening, and from what you guys have said. I suppose I could always go the Yes Man route, but I had been siding with Mr. House and this kind of ruins that.

Still no idea on this one? Haven't played since this happened - it would be great to have it fixed.

Yes. Does this have something to do with the robots in the basemant? Or was that 3? I forget...

From what I have read on the boards, if you went to vault 11 and killed all the robots in the suicide room you ruined any chance of helping mr. house or having a suite at the lucky 38. If I remember correctly there was a quest failed after I killed all the robots, but it all happened so quickly I don't recall which one it was.

Yeah, I know what part you're talking about... Crap.

But that's kind of weird, because like I said, the Securitrons are not hostile to me, it's only Victor.

I haven't yet visited Vault 11... so should I stave off until I complete the House questline...?

Vault 11 has a nasty problem where the things at the end of it are set to Lucky 38 faction. So, when you kill them, lucky 38 turns hostile.

I'd just like to say that I visited Vault 11 during my travels and continued exploring after completing the Vault 11 story/quest. Got to Vegas many days later and Victor and the other Securitrons were all normal. Maybe it is time sensitive, if you rush to Vegas straight after Vault 11 maybe that is why they are hostile, though I don't remember any faction warning when finishing Vault 11.

This is on PC version 1.1.1.271 btw.

He was also hostile to me when I did Caesars quest and not doing Mr. Houses quest.
