Save = Crashed

Post » Fri Jan 21, 2011 2:42 pm

My problem is I keep crashing once I quick save or manual save. It isn't the mods because I load the game without the mods to see if that was the problem.

I get this too, although it seems to be confined to occuring around Mojave Outpost for me. Hit save or quicksave and instant CTD with no error log. No save file is created, corrupt or otherwise. I get the same problem with Fallout 3 but only on my current PC, Phenom II X4 3.1GHz, HD4890 1GB, 4GB DDR3, 7800rpm 1.5TB Sata HD, windows XP (X86). On my old PC which was an antique, 1.8GHz single core, Nvidia 6800 AGP, 3 GB DDR1, windows XP (86), I never had this issue with Fallout 3. Tried tracking it down for a long time but never found a cause.

I have the same problem.

Exemple for reproduce save crush:
I have work save file (http://rapidshare.com/files/429045375/save28_.zip). When you download and unzip this save file to your save game folder (for me it is: C:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents\My Games\FalloutNV\Saves) and start the Fallout New Vegas and load into this save yor will be in Vault3. Then enter to the door in front of you to the next level of Vault 3. And voila! All quick saves (F5) and auto-saves will crush. Please check it out. If the same problem will exist on your PC, and If this problem occur not only on my PC, than I will try to send this save file for testing and debug to the development team.

My PC Config:
Fallout New Vegas without any mods, WindowsXP SP3 (32-bit), AMD Athlon-3000+, 2Gb DDR RAM, Seagate SATAII 1Tb 7800rpm, Nvidia GeForce 9800GT 1Gb DDR3.

Is there a fix for this? I am having the exact same issue.

The game is unplayable since I can't save it.

It even crashes when I save it via the console command.

Have the same issue for over 5 days and waiting for fix - nothing helped, playing without mods/new NVIDIA drivers/reinstall

It's relevant in terms of user "uran1980" downloaded a questionable file (save file) from a questionable source (rapidshare). Downloading savefiles from rapidshare? Who does that, I'm sorry to say, but this is plain stupid.

I really begin to wonder why anytime people around in the save complaint threads get an answer to their question, new threads are popping up that ask the same.

The answer for the topic starter is...at one point you used a quicksave and then reloaded it and did a hard save. Please spell: I SHOULD NOT USE QUICK OR AUTOSAVE, NEVER.

Using the quicksave at one point and reloading, followed by your hard save, has corrupted your game. I assume you want to restart, thank you.

For the record I didn't use any such questionable save downloads. I did use Autosave and/or Quick save. This is a feature of the game and somehow the 'fix' is to not use it? That's ludicrous.

Well, you either do what've been told and have fun playing the game...or...you continue to complain about trivial things and get a peptic ulcer cause of all your anger. I bet you choose the second one^^

Sorry, but I'm not downlod that save file from other resources! This save file is my personal save file which I upload for others to test on their PCs and to reproduce described save game crushes.

Stop being a douch bag devoted fan. Seriously.

I don't think it's too much to ask that the game work as intended. It's not like being able to save the game isn't important.

I just noticed I never updated that thread.

All my previous saves loaded OK, I am now on 30 hours with 183 saves and they all load.

I have added loads more mods run the file each time and have zero problems. :celebration:
