Dead Melissa : Fallout: New Vegas

I was in the quarry clearing out the Deathclaws; Melissa and her buddies attacked, so I killed them. Will I still be able to approach and negotiate with the great Khans?

You just have to go the not so honest way... via assassination and appointing someone who is more sympathizing to your cause. In fact it is the method NCR recommended you to take IIRC.

Go back to the Khan and talk to Karl(the Legion guy) and pass speech check.
