700 caps for that brain but the other two just arent as good. Violettas adds speed and caesers adds damage resist(PLUS its harder to get) so im gunna have to pay the 700 caps for Reys Brain I think thanks

no, attack is worst cause the dog never #$@%ing attacks.. he always runs from my fights.. (yes hes set to aggresive mode) i use him for inventory.. the endurance one only gives him 100hp but its bugged.. you check him and he has 550/450 HP..
id say speed is best cause when you fight legion boss on final house mission the boss chases dog and dog gets away

I try to use the dog for inventory, telling him to wait in a position off-screen of where fighting is going on and he rushes into the fights and gets himself killed, it is annoying.

Sounds like a bug then, because I gave Rex the old ladies dog brain. And he tears [censored] up. He murders enemies like its cool, and with that attack upgrade, he lunges at most things once and they die with one bite.... Hooray for spending $80+ to test a game... But I'd say go for the attack boost.

Which brain you use has an impact on Rex's ending slide, so keep that in mind as well.

My Rex just loves running into large groups of Fiends. A lot of the time I get there too late since I use unarmed.

The dog attacks all the time for me. In fact he attacks everything that moves and he is on passive. Hmm maybe he is bugged and passive is really aggressive?

Can you please spoil me on this?

My inclination is to use Violeta's brain since I already have it and even if Rey is older, I dont want to put him down or kill him. I'd rather let him live until old age.

I kill stuff just fine, so I'm leaning towards using Violeta's brain.

Thanks for doggie ending spoilers, in advance! :)

I've had the same problem, that no matter what I do, Rex won't attack. Tried every combination of settings in the companion wheel. All he ever does is run up to a bad guy, get hit, run away, and keeps running until he gets stuck in the land somewhere and dies. Then I have to find his corpse and kill whatever killed him.

Violetta's brain has him run with fiends in the ending.

I always use Violette's brain in normal, and The Legion one in Hard Core.

But I had to use a mod for that, since it was reported that the Legion brain actually did not increase Rex's HP.

I find it funny that the ending actually touch upon your brain choice :)

[Edit]

For my Ending, Rex overcame Violette's tendencies and lived a happy life. Maybe it is because High Karma.

I think I would like to add here I am a bit disapointed hehe there were only 3 brains and you were hand held on where to get them (map markers sigh) Cheyanne (forgive spelling heh the first dog you meet) seemed good as any to me.. but no dice on a brain harvest same for those two brutes in the bottom of Fiend vault.. Also since I am so uhh strange I did a whole backtrack through helios to see if I could get the brain case for the robobrain hangingon the wall there sigh again no dice seems a loss to have no hidden brains to use on the Mutt....

What about Rey's brain?

His memories mix with Rex's and the dog is at peace. Not dead- but at peace.
