GameStop PC Digital Download Preload

Heys all

I've never bought a Digital Download preorder from GameStop before so I don't know how this works. I placed my order and got my confirmation email. I followed the download link and got a file called FalloutNewVegas-dm.exe Ran that, which is a "download manager" ;) and it gave me a ~2MB file called FalloutNewVegas.exe Ran that and it was a Fallout New Vegas CODE installer which ended in a congratulations/thank you type manner but I don't seem to have a way of starting the game or downloading the game anywhere. This Fallout New Vegas CODE thing made a folder with two EXE files called FONV.exe and postpurchase.exe Running either of them now does nothing.

GameStop says on the sales page that preloading is available but I seem to be at a dead-end of files downloading files. Anyone have experience with this that can help enlighten me?

Thanks for any suggestions :D

Could be that it is on a schedule and will do this for you in the background. Which means the Download Manager may need to be running.

As for the mechanics, you will get your best answer from Gamestop Digital.

Another thread came up with a similar problem at around the same time I posed mine ;) Here's what I just said http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1121973-downloaded-from-gamestop-wont-run/page__gopid__16505224&#entry16505224...

Thanks. They sent an email apologizing for the confusion and explaining to download through Steam.

I'll live, but I'm pretty upset. I specifically chose to not purchase the game through Steam because of their account specific game installs and sure enough after you follow GameStop's email Steam says that the game is permanently attached to that Steam account. *sigh*
