Hi all,

Last night my 1st play through started to CTD a whole lot especially wen making large transactions with any vendor that never happened before but I just made tiny sales to work around that. My really big problem was today when I went to start my 2nd go around every time when the game starts after the opening mantra it gets to the point of looking at the ceiling fan while laying on Doc's bed for about 2-3 seconds and bam CTD. I even removed all my mods and still bam, but I can load any save from my 1st go around and play that just fine :brokencomputer: I don't understand wat the problem can be :banghead:

I can't think of what may have changed as of last night- but there is a new version of the catalyst drivers available as of yesterday that may be worth trying.

I would also suggest validating your game cache and disabling any mods you may have and then re-enabling them after starting a new game.

Beyond that you may want to delete (or rename) you existing autosave as well as the .bak backup. I had issues at one point where it seemed that it was unable to create and remove autosaves and backups.

I just tried to run the game after installing the new driver but no luck

I have disabled all my mods and tried to start fresh but I will go now and try to re enable them

Ok dumb question but what is validating your game cache ?

I would try renaming the autosave and backup first because this can take a little while and sometimes people have issues with it giving false positives on some files (just annoyance and added time but still annoying)

1. Load Steam
2. From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
4. Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
5. Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.

This has helped a number of people but does not always solve this problem- worth trying though.

Yeah I forgot to mention that sometimes there will be one or two files that simply will not pass validation- even when redownloaded.

When you get that you just ignore that if your issue is resolved- as it was for you. Hopefully the validation issue will also be fixed in the next patch although it may have something to do with steam more than the game/patches.

file Installscript.vdf will fail check every time, not a game issue, just a Steam screw-up
