Graphics Issues

Hey there,

Since it's release, Fallout New Vegas hasn't exactly displayed properly for me. I'm using an ATI 4870x2 graphics card on a pretty beefy system (AMD Phenom II X3, 8GB Ram, Intel SSD, Asus mobo, Creative Fatal1ty Titanium SC etc.). I have recently uninstalled both my graphics driver and the game itself and reinstalled the latest of each. I have included some screen shots of generally how the bugs appear. These artifacts are usually "blinkig" in and out of existance over a "normal" render of the scene (the half my screen grabs show a normal game with no artifacts). Two screens show a "worste case" with the last screen actually being the most common artifacting (long polys being stretched into infinity). The first two were also taken with anti-aliasing off and anostropic filtering off, and the second is set to ultra (for some reason less artifacting?).

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I tried that DX9 dll fix which makes the game think my graphics card is a mid range nVidia, however while this helped with FPS, it didn't change the artifacting.

Cheers!

I updated to a much older version of the ATI drivers and now the game runs flawlessly, as does furmark. Weird, you'd think the latest drivers would work to "solve" issues, not create more!

It is quite common that new drivers mess things up or have degraded performance especially gfx drivers in my experience. Never had any issues with glitches like that though, but more like crappier performance, stuttering etc.
