Tired of being overburdened?

So, in all my playthroughs, particularly right around the time I start doing things for the BOS, I find myself, and my mu..err.. companions, being overburdened quite often. Now, by this time, I usually have plenty of caps, but honestly, you can never have too many.

Well, If you are just looking to shed some weight, but there aren't enough vendors in the Mojave to afford all your crap, and you don't want to just drop loot/dump it in your weapons trunk to never be seen again, I found a way that usually works to free up some burden, without sacrificing too many caps...

Ammo.

Assuming you're not on hardcoe mode, go to your vendor of choice (Most likely the gun runners, since the fast-travel takes you right to the vendor) and dump everything you want to get off your back (literally :P) on him. Then start pulling ammo off him. Pull ammo untill you have all/most his caps (without the number being darkened out, as to say you're over his budget). Viola, you are no longer over burdened, and now you have a ton of ammo you can sell off to another vendor whenever you get around to it, or use if it so pleases you.

Sure you will lose SOME caps in the process, more if you have a low barter skill, but really.. it's better than just leaving junk lie around the wastes, lost/forgotten.

I wish there were better ways to get rid of your crap in this game. Jury-Rigging helps to alleviate some of this problem, but I still wind up with a TON of combat armor, power armor, and weapons lying around all over, or pages and pages of the stuff in my weapons trunk. heh.

So yeah. Ammo works. Note that the best place to buy ammo is the quartermaster guy in Hoover Dam (you must first do all the quests for Crocker at the NCR embassy on the strip, and then talk to colonel moore at the dam, who OK's trade with the quartermaster, who is almost directly below Moore's office (head straight out of her office, and down the stairs, first door on the right is the QM)
