My Melee/Unarmed hardcoe Character

Post » Sat Jan 22, 2011 6:23 am

I just started a hardcoe Melee/Unarmed character and I didnt really look into things much just kind of went off the cuff with stats and perks, but I like where its going already and I know there is room to improve.

S 9, P 5, E 7, C 1, I 8, A 7, L 1

I took Heavy Handed and Four Eyes

I plan on a few Intense Training perks to keep bumping stats.. on my first play through I found many times I was searching for a good perk to take so I plan on bumping up stats instead of taking a weak perk. With implants I plan on 10 str, 9 int and agi and endurance as high as I can get it. I was thinking about the Cannibalism type perks but I may not even need those because of how much food can be found and Big Horn meat is great, but I did read that it is an instant heal not a heal over time so in tight situations it can be a life saver. I also think I want some of the Survival perks tho to help with Radiation since I will be sipping out of every water source I can find.

Weapons is where I am totally in the dark, in my first play through I found the Oh, Baby and will go for that when I can and I want to try the Thermic Lance

I made a test version of this last night and ran around trying to get to Vegas asap just to see what things are like and see about gambling some to get early implants. The low speech is bugging me alot, my first play through I had very high speech, science and repair and I talked my way into and out of everything. I had to run all of the Kings quests to get into NV and I got to level 9 doing so, now I am going to try gambling my way to riches and then go on weapon hunts and gain companions and go help the Legion crush the rest of New Vegas. So, I am probably going to keep this char unless someone sees some glaring problem or points out something I will be missing out on.

Gambling your way to implant money with Luck 1 is going to be... very unpleasant if you expect to see that many caps within any short length of time. Playing Caravan can help supplement that, but the Slots and Blackjack are pretty well influenced by Luck.

TBH a better dump stat then luck is Perception if you going melee given that theres easy +2 with Four Eyes (glasses + a hat) the only perk that you can get that needs PE that useful IMO for Melee is light step.

Well in just about 2 hours I saved and loaded my way to about 15k in caps, sold 2 snowglobes and went to buy Str, agi, int and end implants. Going to look for a weapon now, will get the other implants later.

What is this good weapon from mick and ralphs i hear about? or one i should go get?
