Ok so im in fort Bulwark ran completely thru it a million and one times and the door that in need to get thru has a locked get in front of it and the gate is opened elsewhere....well i cant find out that elswhere this gate is opened at. I've stepped on all the lil tiles in the floor in front of the gate and nothing...is there a specific pattern to stepping on these tiles or am i supposed to pound my head against the gate til it succumbs to my will? any advice is appreciated.

There's a pattern. Look at the number of candles beside each row of tiles for a hint. And listen while you walk.
