There was a thread recently about someone wanting more ranged weapons in Skyrim, instead of just a bow and arrow like in Oblivion, and I agree with him. Wanted to hear your guys thoughts on having a slingshot be a weapon in Skyrim. I personally think it would be a nice weapon to use because of its durability and, who knows, maybe you would be able to pick rocks up off the ground for ammo. Maybe you could also enchant a rock to make it a fire or ice type projectile, I think slingshots have the potential to be a unique weapon in Skyrim.

Since there's children in the ES universe now, why not? The kids need something to play with, y'know?

yes. by all means. sneak up behind an ogre, a giant or a dragon and start pelting away with my slingshot. :toughninja:

Well I still think it has potential, not saying a slingshot is going to be able to bring down a dragon or other high level enemies, but it would be useful against other, smaller creatures.(Hunting maybe?).

From that point, yes. But not an effective weapon, simply a toy which possibly could hurt a rat just a little.

Slingshots are cool, but not as powerful as a bow. Realistically, who would use a slingshot when you could just use a bow, even a weak bow. People want more ranged weapons? Crossbows. Maybe even throwing spears (yes, I know they're not in "in the classic sense"). I guess a slingshot... so kids can fight too.

I'd love to see something like a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sling_%28weapon%29 implemented. The animation might be kind of complex though. Or maybe they could put in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlatl or some other kind of throwing spear (javelins, ect). It is a little lame to be bow and arrow only, but I don't mind all that much.

A slingshot? No, not an effective weapon. A rock from a sling on the other hand can crush a man's skull like a melon. Look it up. Balearic and Rhodian slingers were highly prized in ancient warfare.

has anyone mentioned a tec bow that could be put in skyrim like some kind of high tec Dwemer bow or something
