The indents indicate the 75% mark I believe in which above them the item functions normally.

The frontline they're talking about is the Hoover dam I believe.

If you are above the "indents" that is a "buffer" zone in which your weapon will perform optimally and will only need to be "maintained" when it drops below that mark, is when it will have to start being repaired and is prone to jamming and not being as accurate. :gun:
