How do I get a passport? Is it by helping the king and I don’t want to have my reputation damaged with the NCR and there is a quest where I have to kill NCR troopers. Can you do something else?

With high enough science skill you can override the securitrons at the front gate. Alternatively, Mick (or was it Ralph?) can forge a passport for you. But you don't have to kill NCR troopers to gain a favor with the King. Just complete the G.I. Blues quest, if you can convince the NCR and the Kings to stop fighting, you won't lose any reputation.

From Mick and Ralph's by passing a speech check and paying 500 caps or by helping The King on his errands and using up a very valuable favor on a pointless item.


False, you can complete that quest without combat. Your talking about G.I Blues right?

Forget the passport exists, your better off. If you have 2,000caps entering the strip is free period.

All i did to get a passport was nick some guns from the silver rush by dragging them into a corner and stealing them while the guards looked away..

Sure it was exploiting but it was easy.

imo there's no point wasting your favour on it, I went for the option that helps the NCR

1. Don't need a passport. Just take your 2000 caps down to the credit police securitron and viola! (he don't take the money, just checks to see if you have it)
2. Pass Ralph's skill check [Speech 50] and have the old boy get out his crayons and make you one.
3. Go through the whole rigmarole of getting on The King's good side and use his "one favor" to ask for entrance.
4. [Science 80] skill check on the securitron gate keeper.
5. [Stealth] steal the damn key from the gate keeper.
6. Use the monorail while in any NCR faction garb; while Bonne is an active companion; or while [Idolized by the NCR].

Do the quest and don't shoot anyone, talk to people.

Talking about Kings' Gambit? If you still got your favor you can use it to resolve the conflict.

Follow the optional part during G.I Blues (mentioning Julie Farkes (typo?) to the NCR officer). She'll tell you about the "failed negotiations". Afterwards it's pretty straightforward. It's possible to complete the entire game without killing a single NCR soldier.

Thank you for your help again. Well I mean after the quest G.I. Blues you get a quest where you have to kill NCR troopers. Where do you get the option to resolve it peacefully? I didn't do the "optional in G.I. Blues then can I still do it peacefully or do I have to load back? I don't have any favour?

lol i feel bad for you guys. i was unknowingly wearing NCR armor and i took the Monorail to go the the strip for the first time and i left theorught the north entrane and i didnt have to pay a thing and i never needed to do anything to get back in. i was also allowed to use the monorail anytime even though i was neutral with NCR.

If you do the quests and stop the NCR and the Kings to stop fighting you get no reputation damaged so you should be alright.

You get the favor by solving the trouble. And you did get the optional path, you must have simply skipped it.

Sniper rifle with suppressor and sufficient guns skill to take out the gate Securitron from a stealth one shot. Loot the corpse for a key.

If you fail then kill the rest of the gate Securitrons. Once they respawn they are no longer hostile, at least in my game.
