How do you add cards your caravan card deck?

Post » Mon Jan 10, 2011 12:47 pm

OK, so, you can buy different cards, yes, which I have done. Gomorrah ones and that. How the heck do you actually have them in your deck though so that you can even use them? I've bought quite a few cards but the only cards that are in my deck are all the original The Tops Casino ones that you start with.

I don't even have the choice to add them. They just aren't there in the cards to choose from.

Help please.

The Caravan game seems to be broken for me. Whenever i try to have a game, after adding my first card the options are all greyed out apart from cancel & discard card, so i just gave up with the game & sold my cards becasue i am fed up of having to scroll past all the ones i collected when bartering.

It's a bug. To add store bought cards to your deck just put them in any container and then take them back out again. They will vanish from your inventory and appear in your deck.

Haha, seriously? i thought you had to collect a complete deck of some kind of card and then bam, you get a new row of cards when building your deck.

So you're talking about 2 separate issues here right? The one the topic is about and that you can't actually seem to put cards down when you play?

As for the second issue you need to move the cards left and right and up and down to play them.

This is what got me when I was trying to play Caravan.. took me darn near a full day to figure out to use the arrow keys (not WASD) to move the cards and that I had to play new cards in a stack below the previous cards. Well, except for the face cards that you need to play on the card you want to affect.

Caravan is not explained very well, i give it a miss, not worth the hassle.

False. It's worth a Scrooge-McDuck-Money-Tower-To-Swin-In's worth of hassle. The only thing lacking from explanation is to use the arrow keys to move up and down.

Beyond that the rules explanation is fine. The bug with adding cards to your deck is annoying but also not a big deal because you can win 100% without ever adding to your deck. If you bypass that bug and do modify your deck you can make your hand literally un-beatable.

Finally worked out how to work the caravan game, you have to use the arrow keys to change between the cards

I tried this but ran into a problem.
When I look at my inventory using the pip-boy I can see my store bought cards as well as the deck that whats-his-name gave me.
When I open a container I can see my store bought cards and put them in the container but the deck from whats-his-name does not show up in my inventory.
Has anyone else run into this?

I would love tips on how to be unbeatable at Caravan, if you have them. I found the text description of the rules a little hard to follow, and there was no tutorial or in-game instructions when actually playing the game, so I have no idea what I'm doing. Wish there was something like how Red Dead Redemption walks you through new games...

You can't see the deck itself it in the container or barter screens. All you have to do to get the cards into your deck is place all of your store-bought cards into a container and then take them back out. You don't even need to close the container. Just click them on your side then click them on the container side and you are done. The next time you play a game of caravan with someone you can see the new cards in the cards list that you get to scroll around through before the game starts.

Remember you can play a lot of cards on your opponent's side too! Want to clear one of his contract bids? Just plop a Jack on the first card. :D I win a lot doing that.
