Ok soo can anyone tell me where to get a Sniper Rifle

I had to wait till i got to the gun runners shop. There is a very friendly robot there in a box right outside their main building. I think it ran me around 5k-7k, I cant remember. However, all their weapons are in perfect condition. Happy sniping. :foodndrink:

Also you can steal the GOBI Sniper Rifle from the Snipers Nest if you have 100 Lockpick Skill.

There's a free one on a bunkbed in Camp McCarran's 1st recond tent. However it's in poor condition. But if you have a bunch of repair kits ready, there ya go. But yes, otherwise it's the shops. Can't remember what lvl they show up in them...maybe lvl12?

yeah camp mcarren is the easiest one to get, its in a tent on top of a bed on top bunk, it is in low condition but one or two repair kits get it in better condition. there is another one behind a hard locked door in a broken building in a closet type thing pretty close to vegas medical clinic, plus you can always kill an ncr trooper at the dam to get one.

The cheapest place to buy one I found, that spawns into the merchants inventory level 14+ commonly.
Is the female arms dealer at the 188, the mods for it however tend to spawn at higher levels.

Do you mean the one in Camp McCarran? I think I did hear that it wasn't there for some people. It's there for me on my PC version, tho.
Mostly, you have to wait to be a certain lvl to buy it in stores, or have high lockpick/whatever skill, to get one of the relatively easy-to-get ones early.

Alexander and the Arms Dealer at post 188 can sell them, as can the Gun Runner robot as mentioned. Mick and Ralph's may have one in stock too.

Early on, you might have a better chance getting a Hunting Rifle (), and you can buy a scope for one at the already-mentioned vendors before sniper rifles shows up.

There are three earlier ones.

One is random but a high chance, it's in the caves with the nightstalker den mother and cubs just down the hill to the right of the Mojave outpost.
The sack its in is right at the back of the cave, if you follow the game in a linear fashin you'll be roughly level 6 - 8.

The other is at Novac in an average locked container in Cliff Briscoes house.

The last ones, are available levl 1 with luck and equipment, head north of Goodsprings use the stealthboy found in the school house.
Head past the cazador' and straight north to Red Rock, there you may find one spawned on a Khan, use a silenced varmit rifle with a HP round to their head and loot.
Or even head east of there heading to vegas and kill Violetta for hers.

Semi-necro post here, but early on, right after getting Boone I took one off a dead Legion squad leader or whatever in the hills near Nipton I believe. It was 0% condition however, couldn't use it until I got the one from Camp McCarran to combine it with.

That's a hunting rifle, not a sniper rifle.

There's a free sniper rifle at the Mole Rat Ranch.

Legionnaire Assassins that come after you when you have low Legion reputation usually carry a sniper rifle, but its completely broken and cannot be repaired with Weapon Repair Kits or even by NPCs; it is only useful for repairing other sniper rifles.

Your best bet for getting s sniper rifle early and safely is from the arms dealer at 188.

I have never played the Xbox... but in my game (PC) there is always a free sniper rifle in Camp Mc...

and the lady at 188 sells one ...

just need lots of Weapon Repair kits

It was about the hunting rifle, my earlier post refered to the sniper.
The one you quoted to correct applied only to fleapants post, that early on the OP may have better chance at finding a hunting rifle.
I provided all the locations before Boulder city where it's possible to find one.

However the legion assassin are the earliest to get one, you're very right there.
Also if you PO the legion at Nipton you can head to the road just next to Wolfhorn ranch and get those merchants to back you up for that fight.
Not sure if it's broken however, is that in the GECK or did it just get hit by your fire?

Love that sniper.

That's where I usually get it Its the Legion's own fault for trying to ambush caravans.



Damned if I know, but I find it broken every single time.

I checked in the GECK, on the item lists it's shown as unbroken, I'll try a test later to see if in game it's the same.

It's a good thing those merchants are anti legion, and that some times nightstalkers and troopers show up too.
