I'm a better Cazador hunter than you

They're fast, they're strong, and they have poison.

So why would you let them get close to you?

One might think, "Hey, I should slow it down and shoot it's legs." This is wrong. Shooting their legs, even if crippled, doesn't slow them down.

Shooting their wings off, on the other hand, will. And considering the wings are more prevalent than the body most of the time in VATS (IE you most often have a higher chance of shooting their wings than their body) it's not exactly hard to do.

They usually come in swarms though. If you're a capable EW user, Meltdown will make quick work of the little buggers (pun was SO intended). Otherwise you might want to set up some mines and then lob some grenades. Although, with a pistol, high AGI and some Jet, you can VATS the wings off every one in a group then kite them as they slowly crawl on the ground toward you.

Laser RCW = win against Cazadores.
Seriously, just blast away at 'em and they'll die real quick.

I killed some with a machete gladius, but it was not a good time. Super stimpacks and anti-venom were involved - as well as some strategic positioning.

Note to self: never run out of ammo again.

HP rounds from a carbine, hunting rifle or sniper rifle (obviously) one shot them on a crit. HP rounds in a 10mm SMG obliterate them with ease if you let them get too close. Honestly, with HP ammo and a good Gun skill they are pushovers.

They are hard as nails!!! It seriously restricts you from travelling North from Goodsprings at a lower level and I have real difficulty killing them.

So what you are telling me is I should kill them before they hurt me? This is a bit difficult to grasp, I'm sure you understand. I can see the genuis in the strategy though, truly you are the modern day Sun Tzu

and for those who do not know who Sun Tzu is, he is the author of The Art of War. Google Books has a copy scanned for your reading pleasure..........

Pretty amazing how a book so written so long ago still has direct relevance today......

Personally, I like flame grilling the 'buggers' as you put it.
They kind of remind me of bloatflies, except a lot deadlier.
Luckily, you don't have the option to get meat from them anymore (to my knowledge) :yuck:

I just pump them full of lead with my Hunting Shotgun from about 20 yards away.

Best weapon vs Cazadores= Boone + ED-E

I rarely even have to get my melee expert involved in the combat.

Good bit of distance and wipe out the whole swarm with the All American and it's 2+ aimed shots per second. Sneak sniping them with ratslayer loaded with HP combined with the entomologist perk also works.
