Not trying to be mean, but assuming you're playing on a PC, is there a reason why you can't turn HC mode on, hit the Wait button for 24 hrs, and find out that way? It might be faster. Or are you wondering because you're thinking of buying the PC version?

....I've never used godmode and don't plan to, so I don't know offhand either. :turned:

If one uses the console doesn't that negate achieving the hardcoe Achievement?

I admit using TGM occasionally to run away if I'm dying fast and haven't saved for a while, but doesn't it kind of kill the whole point of hardcoe mode? Especially if you use TGM constantly.

If I have hardcoe mode on and the god cheat (tgm) on will I still have to eat, drink and sleep?

I've actually tested this, albeit not intentionally, and if you do not drink/eat/sleep while 'tgm' is active the meters keep increasing and you suffer the stat penalties, but exceeding 1000 units of lack does not kill you since 'tgm' prevents death by any means.

I will assume you are not using 'tgm' all the time, since you're in hardcoe mode to begin with, so be warned that shutting it off while at least one of the meters exceeds 1000 will kill you immediately.

I rarely use 'tgm' myself, aside from the odd occasion where I only have a couple of additional items of loot I will be carrying off and do not want to make an extra trip, so I tend to knock down my meters as soon as they exceed 200 whenever possible.

@ttraveler:

Using 'tgm' does not, in and of itself, negate acquiring the 'hardcoe' achievement since it is gained by running through the game in that mode from start to finish of the MQ. What would negate it is finishing the game during a session wherein the console was used at any point for any reason. If 'tgm' or any other console command happens to be needed and one wishes to receive an Achievement, after using the console one should make a save and then exit the game completely (exiting to the main menu should suffice, but I don't take chances), then reload from that save point and continue working on the achievement in question.

That's the answer I was looking for, thanks

I was forced to use God Mode when starting the quest to protect Kimball. The game forces you to wait a day (with controls disabled) whilst talking to the Ranger, during which period I died of thirst (despite being fully hydrated going in)!

God mode does not stay after a save. If you want to use it, you need to console command it everytime you start your game, therefore negating the Steam acheivement. It does not affect hardcoe play at all except you never run out of ammo or need repairs.

I use the other code all the time. "TDM" I still use ammunition, still need to eat, sleep, drink. I play HC, and personally don't give a rat's ass about achievements or "Ruining the game". I play the game the way I want to. And I cheat. (If that's what you want to call playing a single player game.)
