Free Entrance into the Strip?

Post » Mon Dec 13, 2010 6:54 am

I dunno if this is well known but I got into the Strip from the Camp McCarren monorail. I am hated by NCR but wore NCR fatigues. Inside, I was still attacked by a Ranger and about 5 troopers. Killing them did not set the others hostile, however, and I was able to take the monorail(which appears quite broken but whatever) to the Strip...where Victor met me and told me of Mr.House's invite.

I have done only one or two NCR quests early game, and the only reason I was there was due to the Caravan quest that sends you there for a delivery. Igot sidetracked inside the base and ended up taking a free ride into money land.

So I guess now I can use the King's favor for haircuts woot

It's not a glitch and meant to be there.

I used a stealth boy to get passed the NRC soldiers guarding the door to the monorail. I took it and arrived at the strip with everyone still okay with me.

NCR Troopers get in free, pedestrians get in 2000 caps or an official passport.

entrance doesnt cost 2000 caps, you simply need to have it on you, at least thats what happened to me...

EDIT: how do you get a passport anyways?

First time I went was by accident during a quest....after that I found out I could put on a NCR uniform on and just walk in. Had a NCR trooper walk up to me on the Strip side and express jealousy I was allowed through the checkpoint strapped (I had Lucky equipped) when he and his buddies couldn't.

Go to Mick and Ralph's in Freeside and talk to Ralph, with a Speech check he will sell you a fake one for 500 caps.
