Im doing an energy weapon play through, is there a preferred armor for those that have done this? Any armor give a bonus to EW?

Is the Laser tommy gun a good weapon in terms of energy weapons? Will the Van Gaffe's ever sell this weapon or can I get it somewhere else? My sneak is 11 so I cannot successfully steal it.

The Laser RCW is a pretty good weapon if combined with the right perks. It had little to none recoil and it's spread, from my experience is quite small, even at medium range. As for where to get it, just try killing some Fiends. Eventually one of them will pop up with one.

As for armor, there is one that gives a bonus, and that's the Gannon Tesla Armor. It is a quest reward and only obtainable under certain circumstances. Read the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Gannon_family_Tesla_armor.

Personally, for me... umm... I wear clothing... so yeah. I'm not going to be a big help with the armor part of your post.

Fiends tend to carry around the RCW around vault three.
There is also a power armor called Ganon Family tesla Armor that boosts ener wep by ten points. It isnt available until you can get to freeside and Arcade Gannon

Stealing from the Silver Rush is easy. Pick up the weapon (don't STEAL it), walk to one of the bathrooms, make sure no one followed you, then steal it. As to armor, as the others wrote the Gannon Family armor is the only one that boosts EW and you won't get it until you do the associated quest - and that will be fairly late game. I like the Space Suit for EW characters, good armor, rad protection, light, and gives you that oh so slick Buck Rogers look. :disguise:

The Laser RCW is very good against cazadors and other low armored enemies. Get its mod and some max charge ammo for best effect vs armored enemies. The mod recovers 25% of the ammo you use.

Laser RCW is best for un/low armored opponents at short range. Heavy armor requires plasma weapons or gauss rifle. If you want the Plasma Caster without having to steal it, do not enter Silver Rush until high levels, 18+ should be safe. Bugs, bugs, bugs :shakehead:
