Forgive me for being slow but when u get there u talk to one of the ncr guys who tells u two his men have been taken hostage ect ect I tell him il try an sneak in to rescue them as I go in the ncr go in too an start shooting the khans I acidentaly shot one of the ncr so I notice ed-e doing the same,I untie the general @ co they run off an ed-e mullers those two as well I also shot the khans.now correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the ncr on my side?

the great khans have one of the best ammo merchants in the game, i never kill the khans, i usually help em out in boulder city quest.

Sounds like perhaps you were spotted (and targetted) by one of the Khans? That's the only reason I can think of that the NCR would attack is if the Khans became hostile. I am betting they spotted ED-E and aggro'd.

I too, help them by negotiating, for the same reason mentioned.

When i did the quest i just spoke to one of the ncr soldiers and told them to hold their fire so i could walk over and work out a deal. Didnt work for me ( to low speech) so i shot the khan leaders in the head, and soon as i untied to ncr solider guys and got out of the house every single khan attacked me.
I got help from the ncr and killed them all

Hmm im still none the wiser on this?? when i spoke to the ncr gaurd i think it gave me th eoption to sneak in as my speech was high enough i think it said around 30? i only just got through the door when it kicked off i thought they had spoted me but i noticed they where actualy shooting at the ncr? should i have left the ncr guys tied up? should i have killed them after releasing them (well i didnt have a choice ed-e did it) should i have killed the great khans??

Its completly up to you mate. If you wanna be loyal to the khans or the ncr.

If you choose the sneak option, you MUST fight the Khans since you will anger them the moment you untie the hostages OR as soon as you attack the Khan that is guarding them. The only thing the sneak option does is allow you to sneak up close to the Khans before they attack and the fighting starts. If they spot you with a weapon drawn, at any time, they will attack. They won't attack if you go in with the negotiate option. But even then, you can only negotiate a hostage release, you can not release them (untie them) yourself or else fighting will commence. These are just my observations in multiple run-throughs.

This, basically. As far as I know the only option to save the Khans is to talk it out with them. Sneaking and fighting lead to the same end.


Bear in mind the only reason the NCR haven't attacked is the Khans have their men hostage, once the lad and the lass are freed, they have no inhibitions, their orders are to kill the Khans. (Seriously, the NCR have got some mega beef with those guys...)

I negotiated a truce. Everyone walked away happy. The New Vegas radio news reported this deed numerous times.
