Had a great moment today

My sister (whom I love dearly) is visiting this week for Thanksgiving (be patient, this is relevant). She's normally apathetic to video games aside from the motion-oriented antics of Nintendo's Wii which is why I was surprised when she suggested we play a game on my Xbox. Generally this sort of activity is limited to her whooping my ass at Forza Motorsports (I have no idea why she's so good at that game) or me whooping her ass in a multiplayer session of a shooting game.

Imagine my surprise when she eyed Fallout: New Vegas sitting in my entertainment center and asked if we could play it. I put the disk in and spooled it up, gave her a quick intro to the game, and handed her the controller.

She played for six hours. My sister isn't a gamer and often spends her free time with friends instead of in front of a TV. I guess what I'm trying to say is that Obsidian did a great job with this game... They got my sister to play it!

Congratulations! You did what I couldn't accomplish for 12 years in the split second it took for her to spot the game.

Hahahah Awesome! :goodjob:

I think this really gets at the root of why alot of girls miss out on video gaming - they just aren't exposed to it as much as boys, or perhaps experience social pressure against them? I don't know, but I've seen this before and I love hearing about it.

If everyone played video games like we do, the world would be a lot less stressed-out all the time.

So New Vegas turns girls into gamer chicks?
Okay, all guys out there with girlsfriends who think that they spend too much time on the console/computer, introduce them to New Vegas.
They might stop complaining but you'll probably get less game-time for yourself. :P

Yeah my friend's girlfriend love to play Left 4 Dead when I bring it over.
She don't normally play games either but with Left 4 Dead one sees a young boy in her soul when she shoots zombies to left and right.

One of the major things I noticed was that she was getting a real kick out of the moral ambiguity. The quest you do to recruit Boone she just breezed through by marching a random person out in front of the dino.

I laughed pretty good after that.
