Crysis Original Startup Problems

Post » Fri Aug 15, 2008 2:31 pm

So, the other day I was playing Crysis, got to the final level, and navigating the ship, I ended up looking into one of the sparking ares and the system crashed. Ever since then, when I try to run Crysis from Steam, it starts to run, the screen goes black as it should, but then gets lighter and I get the message "Crysis has stopped working." I know my computer can run Crysis very well on high settings and decent on very high. I have tried reinstalling it, deleting everything from the Crysis folder, and running it in every compatibility, It still won't start, I even went into Windows Firewall and Norton Internet Security to make sure that Crysis was not blocked. Anyone know how I can fix this?
Also, strangely enough, Crysis Warhead works absolutely fine, but I am playing it from disc, while Crysis original is from Steam. Does this mean I have to buy the disc version for the original Crysis as well?
