Minimum system requirements for PC

Post » Mon Sep 01, 2008 10:18 pm

Hello Crytek. I've been a Crytek user since 2004 (far cry). I'm poor so I won't be able to update my computer any time soon. I'd like to pre-order Crysis 2, but haven't heard or read any info about it's minimum system requirements. I can currently play Crysis 1 and Warhead at full (non directx10) settings on my 1920/1080 monitor without any lag. I am eager to pre-order asap, but will wait for news on this. Thank you for your time.

Me too, I hope i can play this one, however i heard that they will make it look better but more optimized, so it COULD be even faster than 1 and warhead

There is already news on the minimum requirements.

Nathan Camorillo (Executive Producer), has said already that "Crysis 2 will have lower system requirements and improved graphics over the original." This is the only news that we have on the minimal requirements, but you should be fine.

Considering its going to run better than the CryEngine 2, I'm not too worried. So I should be able to play on medium. Or better yet if the guys who brought us the TripleC (cough *Cuban_Legend* cough). So hopefully they'll work the midnight oil if its called for.

Hopefully not though. Although just in case, It'd be nice to see high settings on a low spec computer with decent gameplay. :D

When they show video of the PC game footage, show us the FPS on the screen and tell us what the components the computer had that ran it.

The requirements will be the same, maybe even less. We really need to see some PC footage.

Just hope running the game on higher settings doesn't require a more powerful system.

Crytek said that Crysis 2 will require less powerful systems. It is actually logical because it has to run smoothly on PS3 and Xbox.

As they only has to make it for one type of xbox and one type of PS3, then im guessing they've spent more time optimising it for the thousands of different PC's

As long as it doesn't need triple as much then in crysis i can handle abit more then crysis and warhead on full with no problem at all...

If they found a way to run crysis on consoles mantaining good graphics, i think(and hope) the engine will be slightly more optimazed than warhead.

I personally wouldn't run it on anything less than a 8800GS/9600GSO and a Dual core + 2GB of ram. It would run on slower hardware though.
