Anyone else notice how the NCR always makes you do missions that they claim they don't have soldiers or resources to do yet you can 1 man them while the NCR has massive firepower?

Well, firstly there is nothing like getting other people to do your dirty work, and secondly, if they spared the men to do them there would be nothing left for you to do. :)

You can spit out mini-nukes via your fatman. The NCR have pop guns and knives. I know who'd get to do the job. ;)

The NCR doesn't have guys with the skills, weapons, and experiences that the courier does.

The man/woman took a bullet to the head and kept coming.

It's game magic.
Or a psyker did it.

You just have to pretend those soldiers have something important to do, or can't leave their post.

A package courier or highly trained military ranger? A tough choice, but the package courier will always prevail.

Sorry ranger vets have +20 DT as standard and brushguns with unlimmited ammo.
+15 on Rangers with body armour .
First recon has a tremendous crit rate.
NCR troopers seem to put out a hell of a lot of lead from service rifles in comparison.
At the dam, heavy troopers have LMG's at low levels as well as their being Veteran troopers with sniper rifles and marksmen ( head there early to gain *free* weapons of your choosing ).
The NCR does have perks, better weapons, armour, infinite ammo and often numbers.

However the reload is still player only ( I hope ).

All of which can be massacred by you, even so your missing the point. They have the men necessary to do the jobs that are currently being done. But no more. And the jobs your sent on have a risk of a high casualty rate.

The Courier can also be seen as a more neutral party, the minor factions like the BoS, the Kings, the boomers or The Strip casinos won't deal with NCR personal. But they will a 3rd party. And most importantly you appear to have the key to the lucky 38.

For the side quests its like above, they don't have the spare man power to do those jobs without significant loss of life and or sacrificing another operation.

Nope not missing the point.

The point imo was that it seemed weird that they sent you to perform carry quests because they were too difficult.
Some pointed at that the PC was favoured by special rules as unique, I pointed out not so much on that point.

The simple reason ( sorry the point ), is that if they had the NCR do it themselves it would make a short game.
So they add flavour and make it seem like you're special, and are capable of cutting through red tape...

I.e Ranger Morelas.
Forlorn Hope.
Mojave Outpost.
Ranger stations.
Bounty missions.

The only truely unique parts they need help with is directly dealing with the legion in espionage.

Edit: Sneak if npc's could sneak just like the pc then the difference would be nought.
As by far and away only sneak attacking and player intelligence makes a difference.

You missed the important one though. NPCs have the IQ of a hamster.

edit: Ah, you did comment on it at the end.

*Shot in the head and bleeding profusely I stumble into a police officer*

Courier: "Benny shot me, please go arrest him!"

officer: "Sorry citizen, but unless I see the crime being committed I can not do anything about it."

*courier passes out*

Benny: "Excuse me officer, but my friend here wandered off and it looks like now he needs a burial."

Officer: "Thank you for cleaning litter from the streets. Have a nice day, citizen."
