Whats Happening to the Gaming Generation ?

I agree totally. Here's a small but very significant example.
The last 3 games including this one that I have purchased have been multiplayer shooters.
Immedietly on release the server browser is broken. Either it has incorrect ping, and/or it doesn't save filters between sessions.
This may not be a big deal to some but I choose a lot of filters. anyway. The thing is that this is a regular thing. They always fix it with the first patch. It was like this with BFBC2. It's almost like they know things aren't finished but they push it out anyway knowing they can get later with a patch. only on battlefields end they took for ever with the patch cus they messed up the game to begin with when they compiled it.

So they certainly are pushing out titles and not spending or taking the necessary time to make sure they are good on launch.

I guess as long as patches come quick it really doesn't matter. They also are now more and more especially on steam are offering access to beta if you pre-order. It's all about the pre-order didn't you know!?

wow. no sense made in that post.. ima post it anyway. And I spelled imedietly wrong. .. **** did it again.

Because it was not possible.

Indeed, making his supposed point completely irrelevant.

Start playing indie games. They are sometimes far more advanced and more fun than those "AAA" titles. And they are PC exclusive :D

The problem lies with the developers in my eyes.

There seems to be an abundance of titles that require patches lately, which means that certain issues have been undetected in testing or worse left till later.

How many titles have you bought recently that have an update on the day of release? For me it is practically every big title that is released.

I cant remember lots of patches or updates on the original xbox or the PS2 and lots of developers do not seem to do beta tests as much anymore, which means that when we purchase a product which we are lead to believe is COMPLETE, invariably it is not.

So I do not think the gaming generation has changed, i think the developers have changed and are releasing products that are in essence incomplete.

I think the point is you cant test games with the kind of numbers games get these days. Gaming is the most popular it has ever been, and the big boys (CoD, Halo et al) get millions of players in there opening hours! It is impossible to test for that.
I think the reason C2 has had the problems it has, is because its Cryteks first multi platform release with Cryengine3, and they've just been swamped with feedback. Just because people say this, this or this is a problem, doesnt mean it is...Crytek will have to sift through every complaint and verify it, no easy task!

Then why the hell is there an 'indie games' section on the Xbox Live Marketplace?

Doesn't make them PC exclusives.
