Everyone - chill out for a bit.

So much rage, hatred, disappointment, resentment, etc on this forum. While I, too, am very frustrated with the current state of Crysis 2 multiplayer (and no graphics options / DX11), people need to cool off for a bit.

People often assume that Crytek/EA are one person who makes unanimous decisions on the forums, economics, development, patchwork on Crysis 2. That's definitely not the case. EA pushed Crysis 2's release date, and the game went gold unfinished. Crytek is working diligently to fix issues, while a whole separate group at EA's support center is responsible for managing these forums. The moderators' lack of news could be caused by a variety of issues - EA could be forcing them silent until a patch is complete, they could be lazy/bad at their job, etc.

Everyone's complaints have been heard, the message sent. Crytek is most likely working on it (they don't really have any other responsibilities).

Now, take a deep breath. Explore singleplayer if the multiplayer doesn't work. Chill out with some of your other games if Crysis 2 is having trouble launching. The problems exist, they are being worked on, and complaining is only wasting your time and nerves.

I accept this thread, and give you a 9/10 for logic, however Im predicting a 48% chance of trolling. So for now I will leave with this message.

well it is good to complaint and give bad response so they know what to fix and hurry up for the patch.

I think people are just raging for the sake of raging, every game release that I've checked on forums has had a mad rush of raging people with some life threatening issue with their game, every single release that i have checked out.

I avoided the forums until after I had played Crysis 2. Only played the single player but I think the game is fantastic, graphics even with DX9 are fantastic, and it is so much better optimised than the original Crysis, I get better frames with Crysis 2. This game is the best looking current shooter on the market in DX9 mode, so in DX11 mode (when its available) it is going to look incredible, I suspect in DX11 it will remain the king atleast until Battlefield 3 (which will be amazing, but will still attract a massive ammount of raging angry people complaining).

Single player wise i think its a great game (if a little lacking in continuation from the original, atleast at the point i have reached), multiplayer is going to have the obvious teething issues and for that reason I won't play it for a while. It goes to show that if people can complain so much about a game of this quality, they will complain about anything.

I personally like the game. Not having the ability to run DX11, I am not that too concerned with it. I would however like to run the game with low bloom and no motion blur (it makes me feel ill after playing a bit). Otherwise, I think that it is a fun game and will be a great one after all the bugs are out.

lol. Good summary. Totally agree with the OP. Try to relax and lets just see what Crytek does next. As far as I can tell, some of the crap people have been saying here would be enough to make any developer fear the wrath of the PC gaming community. The critics gave Crysis 2 decent scores, and yet pc gamers still aren't happy. I'm sure that will attract developers to designing games for PC. Or not.

There's definitely problems, but rather than assuming Crytek is putting a dagger in our collective backs, shouldn't we give them the benefit of the doubt, that maybe they're working hard to fix the issues? There really is no truly concrete evidence, per se, for us to assume a backhanded play. Removal of the dx11 info from their advertising may have needed to happen since it wasn't available on launch day.

Placeholder? A placeholder is worth $20, $30 max. Not the price of a completed game- not $60. When I pay $30 for a game I expect it to be incomplete and full of glitches and bugs. When I pay $60 for a game, I expect it to work. I expect, at the very least, whatever was in the demo to work.

And you know what this game's demo was? Multiplayer. You know what doesn't work?

I think things would be better if crytek would actually respond to the concerns that people are raising HONESTLY and properly rather than coating **** with spin.

I read a quote from someone at Crytek saying the game hasn't been "consolified" which is utter **** and rubbish load of **** crap.

You might have a point if they would at least tell us they are working on the problems. I don't care about dx11 because I think the game looks fine but they really need to tell us they're at least trying to fix the multiplayer connection problems.

Those include:
1) Servers just not starting
2) Server count down timers resetting or being extremely high (saw one that was over 230)
3) Getting booted from the game with a generic network connectivity issue.

You might say the connectivity issue is on my end, but no, really, it's not. I played Bad Company 2 for over 400 hours over the last year and had a grand total of 0 disconnects from servers because of issues with my home network. Starcraft 2, never disconnected from that game once in dozens of hours. So in summation, it might be a problem with my ISP, but more likely is that their entire server infrastructure is **** up.

This problem was present over a month ago during the multiplayer demo and they still haven't fixed it or even acknowledge it. If they would at least tell us it's being looked into it would go a long ways.
