Took along time but my PC X58 CORE I7 MACHINE IS SWEET!!

Post » Mon Mar 29, 2010 2:15 pm

Thanks Crytek! Patch 1.2.0 has fixed alot of horrible bugs and i AM running latest high tech card amd 6990. Any other amd 6990 owners out there still having issues please reply and i will be glad to assist you. Although it is still DX9 the cryengine 3 gaming platform is excellent and runs very smooth indeed much bettter than crysis and crysis warhead in my opinion- cant wait for dx 11 update. My question is will it run smoother or better with dx 11 support or will it run a bit slower due to the added demand on graphics. I play at 16 x aa all settings in ccc maxed out and advanced 1.5 graphics utility settings all set to high exept those which are not run in ccc . I found smoother glitch and totally lag free gaming when i let ccc take over most of the settings. Runs like a dream and i am only using amd 11.4 preview drivers! Play at 1920 x 1080 res only on high settings at the mo. I find very high is a bit jittery still. Any comments please feel free. Thanks once agian for the best gaming experience currently available and it is only going to get better .

You're doing your rig a disservice man. Get Crysis. Download extreme graphics mod. Play that game.

Nice rig man! Personally, I would say the Power Supply and RAM is overkill, but whatever, I think that's the point with this rig. Also, NICE 6990!

Make sure you buy Crysis 1 and Metro 2033. Max both out. Watch how much like butter they run on your machine. If they run like butter on mine, I'm sure they'll run smooth for you too.

Nice PC, almost the same as mine except for your 6990, I am running a GTX 580. Also to the guy saying the ram is overkill, X58 platforms use triple channel memory so the next size down would have been 3GB, which doesn't really do that hardware justice.

+1
Also lost my faith to ATI and got GTX580
Setted all to the maximum - getting 100-120 FPS
Oh.. yes GTX580 a little overclocked to 900 mhz and memory to 2100
and my i7 920 also overclocked from 2.66 to 4.0
And memory is triple @1600 mhz 3*2 Gb
And i userd Water to cool down all that sh*t

You were screwed.
You should ... no - you MUST use 3-channel memory - e.g. 3 * XX Gb

I want the money for these kinds of machines....

Most people would laugh at a 2.0GHz Dual Core AMD and Radeon HD 3200 Graphics with 3GB of RAM :/

Unless you're doing video encoding or something else like this, that i7 is clearly overkill.

Good work, but you must absolutely overclock that CPU to at least 4GHz daily, otherwise it's going to bottleneck the data feed to the GPU's in a fair few games, resulting in lower framerate when it should be better

yeah i got same flickering at beginning. you need to download the individual catylyst apllication 11.3 which stops multi gpu flickering. get it from amd under games and you will see a footnote about crysis 2 flickering fix at the bottom. so 11.4 early preview driver as well as this app should sort it out. oh and to improve things greatly please download the crysis2 advanced graphocs options utility v1.7 and apply multi gpu and you should not have any more flickering problems. don't forget to reboot after any download just to be shure it has applied
