It's a shooter, just the gun isn't a killer.

Portal 2 is a shooter, except you aren't a Halo guy in generic enviroment shooting Pokemon and marix aleins with bad plot twists.

I mean, Crysis 2 is really all for the shock and awe. Portal 2 is Fun.

I believe after Maximum dissapointed of year called Crysis 2 - Portal 2 will be maximum satisfaction of this year.
Games may be different, but Crysis 2 gives only infinite frustration, Portal 2 just as portal 1 gives infinite joy!

The only thing i have doubt about is story of Portal 2 - i dont like whole "Chell was in cryochamber for about 200 years and now she jsut woke up" because Valve promise Chell to be importan character of half life 2 universe and tiped that we may meet her in episode 3, now Portal 2 seems more like stand alone universe and whole connection to Half Life seems lost after 200 years. Also im afraid of little retcons...
But Valve are good in making stories and gameply that satisfy everyone, so i have hope that they will compensate this unnecessary time shift.

Anyway GLaDOS itself is much more creative and interesting than stupid **** Richard Morgan wrote for Crysis 2.

Anyways, yes I think Portal 2 will get a metacritic score and will sell more. It's more popular AND really, Valve is all about quality when it comes to their games and they support HEAVILY (mainly the PC versions of their game ). Portal 2 on PS3 is Gabe Newell's way of saying "sorry" to the PS3 owners because that has Steam integration, with cloud based saves, cross platform play, chatting, an in-game steam interface on PS3, AND if you buy the PS3 version of the game then you get the PC version and Mac version automatically free.

Though what makes me curious is I wonder if PC sales will get super low. I mean, from what I think, most PC gamers are buying the game on PS3, so they can get the PC version free BUT also have the PS3 version (even though like me, I'm just leaving my PS3 copy on the shelf and I'll just keep it for convenience). Either way, I'm sure Valve will understand if the PC sales were low and PS3 were high, it was because of this good deal they were offering.

The playstation 3 version is more expensive. The pc version comes with the original portal and for the price of the Playstation 3 version you can get Portal 2 + 12 other indie games. So no, not really. The Pc version is still superior for winners.

Is Portal 2 a FPS shooter? Cuz I like FPS shooters only. And does it have multiplayer? With ranks and unlocks and stuff? Cuz I like feeling like a gerbil. If it doesn't have multiplayer then it will fail.

Don't know if it's marketed as in sell as much as C2 but it will definitely be more respected. It would be nearly impossible to fail the expectations as hard as C2 did.
