Why though? Please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it is because of one thing. PIRACY.
There are a lot of people on this forum having little rages because of Crytek leaving pc gaming for money. But there really is no need to blame Crytek for this. Blame pirates, blame them for making Crytek leave us. Crytek, being a games developer, work for money. Anyone thinking otherwise are kidding themselves. When people are pirating their games endlessy, of course they are going to look for other ways to make money. It is simply common sense. And of course they turn to console gaming.
Think about it guys. For example (i am not trying to discriminate or offend anyone) Imagine China, being the piracy capital, was a country where its people actually paid for their games. Chinese people of course are pc gamers by majority. But imagine how many people would be playing pc if this was true. Due to rampant piracy in China, the pc gaming community has lost several milland thions of people, where if they paid for their games, the pc gaming community would be MUCH larger than it is now.
Now remember the first Crysis game. It was simply magnificant or so i heard (i had a crap computer back then). But not a lot of people bought it. Not just because of its insanely high spec requirement but because people simply pirated it. Now I know there are enough people out there with beast computers who, if they bought crysis, would actually make a decent sized community. Piracy made Crytek turn their backs on us. It's not their fault if they needed to survive. Blame no one but pirates who are doing nothing but destroying the pc community. It is only a matter of time before all the pc developers turn their backs on us and join the console buisness.
Now enough about that. Even though Crysis 2 is an XBOX port and even though there is no DX11, theres nothing stopping us from enjoying the great game that it is. It still has absolutely amazing graphics and anyone who doesn't think it is so is blind. The gameplay is superb both single player and multiplayer. It is slightly buggy but there is always patches that will come. Everyone should simply enjoy the game as it is and stop complaining.
