Should nano-vision get a buff?

Post » Thu Apr 08, 2010 10:40 pm

Does nano-vision need a buff against cloaked players. It seems like it only works when a cloaked enemy is 5 feet in front of me and by that time I'm getting shot up or stealth assassinated. What does the community think? I think its a great counter for cloak but seems a little too weak right now.

Yeah, I have tried to use it but I can't see cloaked players. Its also pontless to use it on anything other than the night time maps if you do as you can't see otherwise.

It should be buffed. I can see cloaked players without it more than with it. Though, it does help in crowded areas.

I think it does a decent job at detecting cloaked players as is. I only use NV on one map (I forget its name -- the collapsed hotel), and it works pretty well on cloaked players as they run around like black phantoms. Don't know how well it performs on the larger maps, though.

Keep it coming guys, maybe they will extend the range a little, but not like the PC version, heard it was OP.

He's talking about Nanovision, this thing is useless, worked better in the demo. It need a buff for sure. Right now, we can't barely see cloaked people even when they are right in front of us.

I never use it, I'm already pressing buttons for cloak/armour that are gettin in the way of L1 and R1, messing with the D pad as well = more trouble than its worth.

I haven't seen a good YT vid with someone making use of it

yeah, I see the Cloaked people better when im not using Nano-Vision, every time I try I only see a blue Blur of the enemy unless im up on them and like the poster here stated by that time your either being stealth killed or shot at.

Lets keep this thread alive people, Crytek needs to see that most of us wants nano-vision buffed, because as of right now, that suit power is useless. I want to have a reason to use it and not feel like its used to have predator-vision. It supposed to catch cloakers from a good distance and its only catching a cloaker that's about to either melee me or shoot me at close range, and by that time it's too late. Please Crytek, just extend the range a little bit. I say double of what it is now...

Nano-vision pretty much svcks where it can be ideal (sniping)... I've tried it while sniping and for some reason at long distances people don't glow at all... Yet their gunfire and explosions/fire around them still glows. Same goes for visor enhance.

I've only used it when tracking someone who goes into cloak nearby and it works great for me. If it was a full on thermal vision feature I think it would be completely overpowered. I have been able to hunt down several people who ran by me and then cloaked.

FYI I use Proximity frequently but don't camp... I'm just cautious in certain situations and as it stands nanovision works for me. I don't use it a whole lot though, so maybe those of you who do have a good gripe about its usefulness.

I think that would be fair if it were like that instead... but when i think of it again... it might not... it's pretty hard to say so far it's okay because I have no problems with the "cloak addictives"
