I don't understand... Crysis 2 is Crysis 2, there are no 3D or 2D specific versions. If you want to play 2D, then play 2D. If you want to play 3D, then play 3D. The choice is yours. ;)

Yea, that's exactly how it is. If you want to play it in 3D, you just enable 3D mode in the options.

Firstly, there is no separate version of Crysis 2. There's no 3D version or 2D version. Everyone will end up getting the 2D version, but inside the 2D version, you'll most likely get the option to view Crysis 2 in 3D.

So to sum up what I'm saying; Buy Crysis 2 for PS3, and in the options menu, you will find the option to enable 3D.

Hopefully that makes sense. :)

If you have a 3DTV, then you have the option to seamlessly transfer between 2D and 3D (it will be in the options menu). If you just have an HDTV, then 2D is your only choice until you upgrade. Once you get a 3DTV though, you can play in 3D. :)

I heard that Crysis 2 will be using green and red glasses for 3D instead of the new shutter system. This does make sense as it will have far less impact on performance (which Crytek has realized to be very important) and much cheaper. Can anyone confirm this or have I been reading ****?

It runs on whatever setting you choose 3D or 2D, provided you have the correct hardware. Its all built into one single version of the game.

All you have to do is buy Crysis 2 regular version.

I understand you live in Hong Kong, but I'm pretty sure you can understand by now if you run it through Bing translate or something (provided the firewall isn't blocking it). Hope you understand this! :)

After some research I am pleased to announce that WE WO'T BE NEEDING A 3D MONITOR TO PLAY CRYSIS 2 3D!

In an interview we are told that it will "support several output modes like side by side, a lot of anaglyph modes and the upcoming HDMI 1.4a"

http://www.mtbs3d.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=11660:crytek-interview-part-ii-of-iii&catid=37:interviews&Itemid=75

This means that you can use a 3D monitor OR red and cyan glasses with a normal monitor and GPU (this is called called anaglyph images).
This may be inferior quality to other 3D types, I don't know, but it's still great to know that anyone can play C2 in 3D.

Man, they support both red&cyan and active shutter, probably in the pcs they will be using the nvidia software that you can play almost any game in 3D or active shutter or Red&cyan, this last one just for tests because it svcks

Does the red/cyan method require a 3d display (120hz display?). My gut feeling is no, but you never know...

I really think Crytek should explain what hardware/software we actually need to run Crysis 2 in 3D. Crysis 2 will be in 3D, great. But do we know what we need to run it? Nope. :(

correct, NO you dont. i'll be playing crysis 2 on my HDTV, IN 3D! i think thats the answer that OP is really looking for, or should be looking for. you do not need a 3D TV to play in 3D.

anaglyph (color coded glasses) 3D is bad for your eyes though if you overdo it so i dont think i'll be playing the whole game that way, especially not multiplayer in the long run :-D

Crytek specifically said at E3 that they're version of 3D puts no noticeable strain on the eyes, even after multiple hours of use.
