Crysis 2 TV Episode TWO

Post » Mon Apr 19, 2010 9:24 pm

Haven't seen a thread for discussing the actual episode now that it's out, so here you go.
I personally thought the first half was pretty useless as we've seen it all before. Then came what you could ALMOST call actual information on the 3D tech. Apparently not everything is 3D (explains the little performance impact). Confirmed 3D elements are: HUD (pops out of screen), bullets (I wonder to which degree of realism).

Yea, the first half was old and the 3D part wasn't really all new. And the worst of all E3 was months ago, pretty late to show off this footage.

I don't think Crytek is allowed to show us anything new, so they are kind of just rehashing out E3 because we have been complaining about nothing new coming out. Its good to know that Crytek is trying to reassure us and help make the wait not feel so bad.

thats not far from the truth i think, but there's always something you can show the fans. i mean there are millions of little details they could include (unseen concept art drawings, a sneak peak at mere seconds of the multiplayer that will be revealed at gamescom, an over the shoulder view of some animator as he/she works, the possibilities really are endless) just to give us something NEW!!

i'm tired of the level we saw at E3, instead of showing entire levels at once and then altered versions of the same scenes over and over they could simply preview lots more small things - that way they would never run out of novelties and not give me the feeling that im giving them too much of my time (which i definitely am, seeing how they managed to not update anything in what, more than a month?

True. I would love it if Crytek had a camera on something like a weapon designer. The camera records the monitor from start to finish making a gun, and then it plays it back at 200x speed or something.

Its that kind of cool stuff that can really stem the wait and get people interested in game design.

I think interviewing more of a variety of developers would be very interesting.
