For me I received 3 codes totally.
1. The 20-long "Product Serial Code"
2. A 16-long "Redeem code", it is for the limit edition items
3. A 8-long redeem code, it is a "free price" form EA, actually it is the "Crysis 1", but I still unsuccess to active this and I may not use it for myself, because I bought the Crysis 1 & Warhead in Steam for long time.

I bought the physical game from the store this morning, and im having the same problem, so its not because of the digital download... I'm getting a serial code invalid error, even though i was the one who opened the package, and made sure it was typed correctly... Hope they fix this problem soon, would love to get online.

Hi all. I solved a problem but probably i got lucky.
I have all same symptoms like you have - singleplayer work fine but MP request for serial.
Here the solution for that:
Actually EA store gave you right code, but missing last character.
My code from EA Store was 1 character less than required for multiplayer game. So I decide to try all acceptable characters with bruteforce.
And probably I'm the luckiest one or last symbol just doesn't checked, but when I put EA code into Crysis MP input box and JUST ADD single 0 (zero) to the end so it fit Crysis MP Serial Pattern - I got my multiplayer unlocked. You could bruteforce all digits there.

Try this and please write results here if it helps.

If it does - we should complain to EA or Crytek cause this is pretty obvious that they have a lot of codes mismatched (I won't believe only dozen of players face with this problem)

PS: Maybe all this is just coincidence and all written is some kind of cargo cult, but this helped to me

Offtopic - I hate EA for that - when I early preordered crysis 2 - I get useless Shank but late comers got Crysis 1 =(
