*DISCLAIMER/WARNING*: This post is not in anyway an attack against fanboys or any fanboy in general. iCrytekFreAk is not in anyway shape or form responsible for any asshurtedness that may occur while reading this post. This is simply the OP's opinion. PC elitist are not allowed, we know that the PC platform is God's gift to gamers/gaming. However, console gamers game for convenience. Besides, this is a console debate thread. Readers discretion is advised *insert COPS music*

What's up bastards of all ages! I originally made a post about the PSN outtage and received many replies when i began to talk with another user about Xbox Live(don't know how we even went there). So, I decided to make a PS3 vs. 360 post because not only do i want to know you guys' opinion, I'm sure many fanboys will rage as well. So here we go.

My stance: At the moment, Xbox 360 and Xbox Live are better than the PS3 and PSN. It may stay that way until the end of this generation. Below, is why.

Why I believe 360 is superior: As a former PlayStation 3 owner and supporter, i find that the content provided on the PSN is minuscule to say the least. I mean the majority of the content on the PlayStation store is content that is exclusive to Sony and PlayStation. Where are the Call of Duty/Battlefield/Crysis 2, etc gamer pics and themes? Sure, occasionally you will see an mw2, battlefield theme. But, there is no abundance! There are practically themes and gamer pics for every game ever made on the Xbox Marketplace.

Communication is a MUST for online gamers: I grew tired of people not using any headsets to play team based games online: Battlefield, Killzone 2/3, Crysis 2, Uncharted 2 etc. PSN is like a ghost town most of the time. You expect to get online and play as a team; however, a majority of the time, the player finds that he is ,in fact, talking to himself; and the very few times that there is any sort of communication, I find myself lowering the chat volume down on my headset because people are using cheap blue-tooth headsets. The PSN experience is frustrating, to say the least. Lucky i did not buy socom 4. I would probably rage so bad i would have murdered my PS3.

Games!!, Games!!, and no games??: Why do we game? For the games!! obviously. While the ps3 does offer many exclusive games(more than the 360) they just fail, sadly. On top of that, these games are so hyped and gimmicky that its hilarious when I see only 2000 players online. First up is M.A.G. In short the game is not all that great. But, it has 256 players online so it must be amazing! right? Wrong! Second up is Killzone 3. Sub-par gameplay and honestly the graphics are not out of this world. In lamens terms when it comes to Killzone 3 vs Crysis 2: Crysis 2 takes the crown hands down, so PS3 fanboys...sit down lay back and STFU(lol). Sadly, it seems like a lot of the PS3s exclusives lack in gameplay and overall fun(THE ONLY GAME TO REALLY SUCCEED IS UNCHARTED 1 AND 2). PS3 fanboys hype up all these exclusives, but for what? THEY DON'T EVEN PLAY THEM! Also, when it comes to multiplatform games, ps3 gets the shaft a majority of the time as well. Sure, there are a few games out there that run better on PS3 as apposed to its 360 counterpart. But, the list is very small.

Gimmicks: In my opinion, while blu-ray is an advancement in the media industry, it is not Jesus' gift to gaming like many fanboys claim. Blu-ray is simply used to store more information and it can also hold more content. It's not like its going to make a game look 50x better(ex crysis 2 360 version>ps3 version). Sony is Sony used the PS3 to further push blu-ray down the industry's throat. Nothing more! Nothing Less!also the only company to bring out a console with many features to then just removed them as time goes on. I'm sure many of you dont know that the PS2 brought a HDD at one point. If you do, tell me you dont feel shafted after purchasing one to then only have it rendered useless by sony and the PS2 slim. The PS3 had linux support and we've also seen that removed along with some USB ports and the different memory device ports on the OG Fat PS3. What the hell is going on over there at SCE?

Online/Network: The PSN or XBL? Which is better? That is the question! Dont get me wrong, trough time we have seen PSN improve greatly. Nevertheless, it still falls short to the Beast known as Xbox Live in my opinion.
PSN is only your basic service. Text messaging, video chat, access to online play, access to PlayStation home(where all the pedophiles go btw) Also has access to a web browser that feels that it was designed in the 1900's) But, its free. Xbox Live while it requires the user to pay 60 bucks per year(if you buy live from the market place its only 37 bucks which is what i do...so yea! PS3 fanboys don't mention that one lol) This service offers cross game chat, party chat, video chat, access to CoD content before the PS3 gets it(for those interested in CoD anyways) Voice messaging, Online Access, Tons of content for all games both multiplatform and exclusives such as themes, gamer pics, avatar clothes etc. Xbox Live also gives users the options to purchase full games straight from their service as well. Unlike the PSN which only offers around 6 games at the moment(im not speaking about arcade games but full titles such as MW2, left 4 dead 1 and 2, Mass effect 1 and 2, gears of war 1 and 2, battlefield and the list goes on!

Image

You know i had to include this in here. There is not much i need to say regarding this topic. ! word i would use to describe PSN is...UNSTABLEGARBAGE(lol yea its one word!)

Trolling? Maybe, but is this my opinion and do i believe it? Damn right!

Image

All in all, have fun people. Play what you play and if you enjoy your system that's all that mattes. I was just having fun with this post(it truly is my opinion though).

My stance: In my personal opinion i believe the ps3 is the better but im a fan of both systems an when it comes down to it we can debate about this forever or at lest till the next gen comes out lol

Communication is a MUST for online gamers: I actually go with 360 on this one with the simple fact the head set comes with the system an ppl on ps dont want to go buy one witch makes gaming a non verbal experience some times unless u start a clan. for my ps3 i use a wierd set cuz i think they sound better an there cheaper.

Games!!, Games!!, and no games??: this is the reson for u buying ur system most likely. I prefer games on my ps3 exception to a few shooter. on the ps there are more exclusive games i prefer loke gow, kz, resistance, gt, and a long list. the only games on 360 not on ps an there reson i got it are halo, gow not to be confused with the ps3 ont there diff games lol. and fable. i prefer cod bo zombies on 360 but tdm on ps. an the big seller for games for me were the psclassics cuz i love (con)

"It only does Identity theft" hahahahaha!!!!! classic..

10/10 post dude, good stuff, always gunna stay with PS3, but this is good, i dont mind either console really.

The first console of the two which i played was the Xbox 360, and to be honest i was blown away, amazing graphics, good home screen,, or..dashboard is it? :P especially with halo, damn i love those games!

Your right with the online aswell. although PSN offers the free service, Xbox live smashes the psn service apart, but when psn comes back.... will it be better?? noone knows, what we all do know though is we will get cross game chat for 30 days! (with the ps + service)

currently i own an PS3.. but i nearly bought myself an xbox the other day, but thought, nahh, i wouldn't play the exclusives, so theres no point,, which is the same as me with the PS3 to be honest, i dont play the exclusive, (because like you said, there not very good) although i do own GT5, and i enjoyed the experience with my Logitech DFGT right up to the point my data corrupted :P

once again good post, i hope we can just accept that both consoles are good in different areas to be honest, because they are!

i love my old school games they take me back to when i was a kid

Gimmicks: the ps3 and 360 both have good gimmicks but we already went over that lol... but i have to say when i "upgraded" to the ps3 slim it kinda felt sony just put a big fu in my face but the new 360 isnt any better my nephew has one an the et center its on barley got bumped an it fked up his game it wont read it at all now... o an i mentioned the 60 xbl cuz not every one buys online they should but dont.

Online/Network: i like the psn better than xbl cuz while the gaming is equal except the headset issue i like i can surf the web, pshome, an the facked that nextfix is on both u can stream the same movies free off the web

These are my personal opinions an in no way shape or form do i expect ppl to agree or change there opinion

I would say that from a hardware standpoint, the PS3 is better that the Xbox. From just about every other standpoint, the xbox wins. I wish PSN would allow for party chat, cross game voice chat, and the nice extras like that. This is why I am probably leaving Sony after this generation of consoles is over. Or maybe getting an Xbox if there is no sign of a new console coming in the next 3 years.

The PS3 has under the hood an Nvidia chip, but I wonder if Crytek used this advantage...
I mean on PC we know Nvidia blows away ATI...

$300 of GG OC'd to 4.7ghz.

Anyway, I dont really have a preference for consoles. If I were to buy a console just for me, i'd get a PS3 (I still dont have a blu-ray player, and im too cheap to pay for MP). However, 90% of my friends have a 360 and play 360 games, so i'd get that for more of a social system (erm... social with friends, not whining 13-year-olds).

i have a PS3 and i haven't played on it in months... reason?
well the online multilayer is bad to say the least - and mind you that is one of the main reasons i got PS3 - to play MP with friends...

games take so damn long to load its silly - i know its a minor things but it takes about 5 minutes from putting Medal of Honor into the PS3 and from playing the actual game!

BluRay to me is w/e...

Only good thing about the PS3?
The controller.

In all honesty if you gonna game get a PC
