Air Stomp.

Post » Mon May 24, 2010 4:42 am

Maybe its me not knowning how to propperly use this skill but it's feels somehow not usable?
I have played 15 hours now and i have only managed to get 25 kills with Air Stomp, and that's was achieved by camping high spot in Crash site waiting for enemies to come by the capture point. Air Stomp kills is to big a struggel i think ..

- Ideers: Either chance Area of Effect on this ability or increase damage done.

The goal in this game should be to make all nanosuit modules usefull.

I have played for more than 10 hours and no kills with Air Stomp yet. lol

I've given up on that, i don't want to waste a perk module space. I want to level up other modules first.

I love the Air Stomp ~ I'm about Level 20 - only got about 12 kills with it, but there is nothing more satisfying getting an Air Stomp kill (execpt maybe kicking a car at someone). :-)

I don't really like it. Recovery is too long and it gets me killed more often than not. Its useful in crash site when teams group up in one area, but so is a grenade/c4(better imo) and I don't have to waste a module space on it

the moment u air stomp down, its either u kill them or they raqe you with bullets... the recovery is kind of long and the damage done is little provided you are jumping off from a building not power jumping and air stomping..

I think that if you power jump from an elevated point (i.e, the helipad to the ground below in the video example) and then air stomp it deals more damage and/or wider area of effect. I cleared an entire room of 3 enemies shooting at my teammate in the rooftop level by power jumping and air stomping at the top of my jump to fall through the hole in the roof to the reception/info-desk room inside.

Can anyone confirm this? It makes sense to have the damage and/or the aoe directly affected by height because it takes you significantly longer to hit the ground, making it harder to aim.

Yes, this is exactly how it works. Doing a power jump off the ground and stomping does nothing. The more height you have, the more damage you do and the bigger the impact radius spreads out. But even jumping off of something slightly larger than you, like say a shipping crate or a truck, makes a world of difference.

I get Air Stomp kills quite easily in objective based gameplay, especially Crash Site. Opportunities are less in something like Instant Action game types, but if you know the maps well enough, you'll know where the opportunities are.

I'm level 28 and have my stomp at Level 2 right now.
It gives you the ability to fall from any height without taking damage. Level 3 gives you faster recovery from the stomp. I pair this class with Stealth enhance level 3 which cloaks faster, no shadow, & stay in cloak longer and Mobility Enhancer which will reduce the use of energy from using jumping and sprinting skills, increase your speed in ledge grab, & your firing skill after sprinting will increase. This pretty much let's me stay in cloak in high places as I hunt my victims from up high and then come slammig down on them without them noticing me. If my cloak starts to wear off as I wait, I uncloak and wait for my energy to refill back up which only takes a second or 2 thanks to mobility and cloak enhancer.

Thats my air stomp class as well. With stealth enhance at L3 and mobility enhance you can afford to "waste" that armour perk on air stomp

I'm not bothering with the Air Stomp... as someones said, you kill them or you're a dead man. I'm levelling up other modules first, as that way i'm having more fun and gaining XP. Will try for the Air Stomp... eventually.
