Is this game dead online already?

Post » Fri May 28, 2010 9:54 pm

I've been trying to find a game in standard CTR and had to wait 20 minutes to get enough people to start a game! it never used to take this long, And I still havn't been able to play PRO modes online.

Is the online K.I.A already?

Actually NO.
I found out yesterday tha the severs reboot every 6 hours. Dont ask me why - i havent a clue and the message I questioned about this same difficulty took a ticket in IGN website and 3 days to get an answer.

I'm fairly satisfied that this is the case, because if you try to getup a group directly afer the reboot, it takes forever to get a team happening. I also waited ages for friends to be able to join. I discused online with some friends in the UK, their access to this game is really poor compared with here in Australia. I noted in another thread that EA has listed some dedicated servers for this game in Australia to help with the ping rate. I have also noted that the US servers are also having problems as a Ohio freind couldnt even retain a link for several sessions last week. So its a shared problem and I think that many people have decided to go back to old titles and wait it out till the game improves enough to get some kind of reliable enjoyment. On that i'm going to go back to BOP's.

What? Since when are the Aussies getting Dedi Servers and not the UK? source?

Thats BS, Considering the Full multiplayer was done in the U.K.

Also something thats straining the situation and really p***ing off CRYTEK atm is the AIMBOT thats being spread like wildfire across the internet. They are making a fix for this that will render modded games completely useless. This is just another headache that makes the game a nightmare for playing.

Its not BS - because EA has contract here with MS and they opperate Aussie based servers for many games that are not released under their title. basically MS leasebacks the server for a period to make gamers here feel that they are closer to the action. The ping rate for Australia to the USA roundtrip is approximately 180ms but is usually 220ms due to traffic on the node. Its better through the dedicated EA servers at around 84ms and we can at least compete fairly with you guys in some arenas.

The main game modes, Instant Action, Team Instant Action and Crash tend to always have people on them.

It takes a long time to find people on extraction or assault, and impossible on any derivate of classic or pro. It gets progressively worse at night or early morning. I looked on the leader boards and there's on about 320k players who have bought this game. I believe this figure is globally since I can find American people on there (I'm British).

If it wasn't for the fact that I loved this game, then considering how the continue to treat their customers I would wish this game to die.

320,000 minus the 10 pre owned copies I saw in Game the other day and my friends copies after that. Thats just 1 shop in the world (imagine how many other shops globally have at least 1 copy traded in)and my friends, Im sure there are also other people like this, then it is going to go rapidly downhill from here.

Homefront was the same way, tons if used copies on the shelf within a week. Homefront has come back and I imagine C2 will also once (if) it is repaired. I'm using the game as a training session for Brink. The mechanics (jumping, sliding, etc) seem like they will be very similar to Brink.

Yes! Brink. :D

You would be better picking up Mirrors Edge if you want to train your 1st person free running for Brink. This game is way off that. All Crysis has is ledge grab and slide. Brink and Mirrors Edges movement are so much more in depth.

I dont think C2 or Homefront will hit the highs they should have as it is too close now to other big releases like Brink and Mortal Kombat amongst a few others.

The bad word on C2 and HF is getting passed from people who have played it to their friends. Its a PR nightmare releasing in the state those 2 did and it doesnt just damage sales of that game, it damages the whole franchise in sales of future releases as people will remember. There is a quiet patch in the summer where publishers dont release games so maybe then they will see a slight resurgence. That is the best shot Crysis has and it is a few months away.

I stopped playing online. They need to fix the lag or whatever makes the game so random.

Also, the SP graphics starting with the raining level are very ugly - there's huge blocky grain everywhere and wavy lines. If they don't/can't fix these issues I'm trading it in.

This game can be amazing but as of now it's severely lacking in MP and SP graphics.

that 320 thousand number only includes people that have played atleast one game of multiplayer.
far more copies have been sold than that so i dont know why you used the term bought.
i have no problems finding matches ever. and that number new users playing online is aqctually growing.

The game has more problems than just it's **** online connections. The game modes are boring me to tears now. There's no balance. The maps are boring and the same ones are played all the time. There's really no guts or depth to this game at all. Monitoring energy is a chore, it's not fun. It lacks the pace of games like CoD or the depth of something like Battlefield. HF is better than this - and that's saying something. What a joke.

Good I hope it bites them in the ass for releasing an unfinished game.

I'm gutting it out until Classic mode to drop the suit and see how it goes. I thought HF was already developing a pattern after two weeks. First round, one tank; second round two choppers and a tank; third round all vehicles. I found this a little boring. There is still the unexpected to C2 that keeps me interested.

It's never taken me more than 60 seconds to find a normal CS match. I haven't unlocked Pro yet so, I can't tell you much about that.

Here's your rain-check Blend - i want to know what dedicated servers are running this game - the list is from another CRYSIS2 site. Oh and by the way I use Internode as its the only pure dedicated link in Australia for those who need to know a little more than what their ISP will tell them.

I also have check a few sites for your choice of service. but if you are using an ISP that is not listed below, you will incur an extra charge to your existing gaming experience to access these pure gaming servers. If you've done your homework you will be on the list already and there's no need to swap your service.

For people who want a pure gaming provider - check the type of service available as some of the below also do not offer Console (Xbox360, Ps3, Wii) and just run with PC/Mac on their servers. There are of course other providers that are not on this list, but we are talking about who is offering dedicated server use with CRYSIS2.

... something that every gaming company strives for. We also know how much our PC and Console gamers love dedicated servers, and we’re pleased to announce that Crysis 2 will support them! Below you will find our server provider partners who, between them, will be offering global hosting:

4players

BigPond GameArena

Binarics

Branzone

Brain Storm Host

Clanhost/Bluejay

Clan-Server.at

Diabolic Servers

Dovermed

Eliott Ness

ForTeam.ru

Fragnetics

Game Hosting ... you can rent a server and run as host from these guys.

Gamehotel

Gameservers

Hosters.at

Hypegamez

Hypernia

I3D

Iberbit

iGame / iBurst

Internode ... only in Australia - node direct to USA and Asia. Does not have direct node with Europe and UK.

KillerCreation Networks

Leetservers

Multigamer.no

Multiplay

MyInternetServices

New Light Systems

MyLoc Managed IT

Nuclear Fallout

ON3

Playzone

Primary Target

Rackage

SC Computer Games Online

verygames.net

Wolf / Art of War

Web Africa

If you are a serious gamer - go check other forums on this subject before deciding who is the best for what you want because the above is a Global list which is telling you who operates dedicated servers for games that are on release or have been around for some time. Generally clans, clubs and other longer term gamer groups tend to guild with provider if they are in the same country. This attachment through one ISP makes their gaming experience really worthwhile.

killorbekilled is right, I went to a mates house last night who is with Internode as an ISP and the connection was nearly flawless, the hit detection and balance issues aside, it was not the lagfest I've had to cop with Optus...

(I know Optus **** svck, don't tell me, it is the plan for the share house I live in, and I've already convinced them to change to iiNet for the unmetered acess to Xbox Live when their plan is up. And if it were my choice it'd be Internode all the way - Been a fan of them since back in the CS days when they had the best servers for Aussie gamers)
