No Crysis 2 Setup downloaded using the EADM

Post » Tue Jun 01, 2010 4:35 am

Hi to all.

I am new to the forum, and i just finished downloading my copy of Crysis 2 LE. But apparently, the EADM downloaded a "PRE-INSTALLED" copy of the game, and not a setup. I checked the folder where it usually stores the setup files, which already has BFBC2 and Crysis which i downloaded 2 days ago, but no Crysis 2 Setup. Has this happened for everyone ? Or have i selected some option without reading when the download began :S ?

Is there any way to only download the setup separately ? Or will i have to uninstall, and re-download ?

It might help if you post the directory structure and files contained. http://www.spadixbd.com/freetools/jdirprint.htm

I would contact EA first though.

Here is the Structure for the Crysis 2 Limited Edition Folder.

The size of the entire folder is 9.24gb

The _Installer folder is sized at 88Mb if you need the size. It seems to contain the Support files mainly i think.

Directory of C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crysis? 2 Limited Edition\

__Installer
Backup
bin32
Engine
gamecrysis2
LogBackups
patch
Support

C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crysis? 2 Limited Edition\
================================================================
Game.log 10 KB 25-Mar-11 06:38:10 PM a
GDFBinary.en-us.dll 823 KB 25-Mar-11 11:25:24 AM ra
system.cfg 1 KB 25-Mar-11 06:17:16 PM a

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Total 8 folder(s); 3 file(s)

Total files size: 1 MB; 834 KB; 854017 Bytes

Will shoot off a mail to EA Support too.

You need to tick 'recurse sub-directories' to get a list of files in all of the games folders. Someone can then compare to what they have.

To OP,

EADM now uses so-called "seamless technology" and does NOT download installers (setup files). It's true for recent and new games while older ones are still downloaded as installers/archives. Read this thread: EADM won't save installers.

Thanks for the reply. I guess it was made just recently, as i already have BFBC2 downloaded using EADM with it's installer downloaded separately. A really idiotic change IMO, as installing on multiple machines if needed ever will be a PITA.

Thanks again.
