^ This, plus the fact that a xbox has a 10mb gpu and 512 mb of ram, it wouldn't matter how much Crysis got scaled it would never run without losing a ton of it aesthetic quality.

Nope. Crysis 2 probably (im guessing) uses smaller maps in order to fit into the 256mb ram limit of the consoles. Unless they did a total re-design of the entire Crysis 1 game, it wouldn't work.

Maybe on the next gen consoles if they have 1gb of ram.

Crytek made it clear that Crysis was a PC only game in response to all of the Console only games. Be grateful you bastard. xD

Well, I'm not very technical and I can only imagine the work that goes into game designing. My theory is that, isn't it possible to take Crysis (which was made with CryEngine 2) import it into CryEngine 3 and then make use of CryEngine 3's scaling ability to port it to consoles? If consoles can handle a "big" game like Far Cry 2, it surely can handle Crysis? (even though it will need alot of downscaling so it will look nowhere near as good as it did on PC's).

But I don't think we will ever see Crysis 1 on consoles. Which is sad, many console gamers don't have an idea what great new game awaits them

I played Crysis 1 on a new comp about month ago an Alien ware comp and at what it could push crysis 1 was epic and still is

I think the made the new Cryengine to allow the game to be more flexible,yes i mean the CryEngine 3 this way it will be easy to port which was hard with the old one.

I think most of us played Crysis even beyond the ultra setting.
With some graphic configs like the natural mod or the msterconfig
you can increase the graphic quality even more.
Some modders even put new textures ( rygel for ex.) and decal effects in it. With all that stuff: Crysis 2 is nowhere near that quality.
And the console versions are lightyears away from it

The only step further would be photorealism i think.

But dont get it wrong. Crysis 2 will rule the consoles. Because what looks kinda crappy for us "priviliged" PC Gamers ( Because we are just rich snobs, spending thousands of bucks into one single Desktop Pc every 3-4 years) will set the benchmark for graphics on consoles.

By saying Crysis 2 is "old" tech. for pc gamers..that dude is right.

Could they just make crysis2 for the PS better than the one on the 360? Reason being that the PS has blue ray and has loads of space on it,if they don't use that space given to them by Sony that will be a sad story!

Haha the funniest think I ever read in these forums! Crytek is not ever going to remake Crysis 1 in consoles... Don't worry though because crysis 1 story and crysis 2 story have absolutely nothing in common and the story will not continue in Crysis 2. The only think you need to know is that alliens are attacking the earth. Maybe the protagonist will be the same as in Crysis 1 but nobody knows...

they said its going to be Nomad once again and prophet will be in the game so the story is still almost the same . the only issue i have is that the aliens look different

The aliens had plastic surgery to ensure a clean invasion

Oh and you dont have to buy an alienware pc...there are tons of other good pre-configured systems on the net.. and you dont have to pay too much, just for a name..

I personally dont buy these "complete" systems.
I love to configure everything by myself. It also ensures the best cost control. But therefore, you need to have some skills in building pc`s... otherwise you`ll soon get frustrated

Its going to be nomad once again am sure of this if you dont trust me wait for match 22 when you find out its true or wait for about 3 months when they show the gameplay again. am sure am right man.
