There is definitely lean in the Singleplayer, but it is unknown if it will be a feature in the Multiplayer.

there's a cover mechanic that lets you peak out from behind objects, technically what you do there is "lean"ing. you cannot lean freely though, like you could in Crysis 1 or the upcoming Bodycount.

in MP there is no lean. I was at gamescom actually and tried it out for myself :P
but it might come back in a later version, it's just alpha or sth.

Yeah the lean was buggy because in the CryEngine 2, the camera position is actually above the players head. This is why in Crysis Wars people can fire on you even if just a sliver of their head is showing and not their weapon. The bullets are litterally mind controlled. So when you have people being able to lean and not be seen, it was complained about. So instead of fixing the whole camera issue, Crytek just decided to remove lean and you still have bullets shooting out people heads. Its one of the most annoying exploits of Crysis Wars. Just show a pixel of your head and shoot shoot shoot, they are dead. =/

I actually prefer some sort of cover system (eg Killzone 2, Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6 Las Vegas) over lean :P

Yes you can slide into cover this way you don't take too much damage in moving also in the multiplayer vid it was shown that it can be an attack :)
