Framerate

Post » Fri Jun 25, 2010 8:22 pm

On some maps in certain areas the framerate gets really low. The worst example is in on impact, in the appartments.

Am I the only one having this?

Its mostly in areas with lots of particle effects. Also after an orbital strike.

Framerate is too low, too often for my taste (almost every combat with 3-4+ enemies on screen from the beginning to end)...

I have never had a framerate drop to where I dislike it, might be cause I have it installed... I also have the Limited Edition disc.

I have installed it too. Its good most of the time, but especially on the map Impact it gets really bad. I think its the smoke particles.

By the way, the limited edition disk is the same as every other disk. Its the code that came with it.

No one? I feel it gets below 15 fps at times.

Last time it was at the higher part of Skyline. No one was up there and yet the framerate was too low to even look around without getting disoriented.

Frame rate drops on a 30 FPS game is disgusting no matter what you say.

30 FPS is used to make sure there is no Framerate drop what so ever in game.

I have my disc grafted with pure gold and a thin layer of diamond, the case is made out of reinforced carbon and flax composite compound element, and the UPS logistics man delivered it with just a duffel bag and a Nanosuit 2.

It may not be very noticable to the untrained eye, because of the natural looking motion blur they use. However, when trying to aim at something it wil feel very sluggish.

I figure many Xbox 360 players have untrained eyes. I know the framerate fell multiple times during the campaign (especially in large firefights) to the point where I couldn't even shoot without overcorrecting my aim. On mp, when the framerate drops I get pissed. Oh, well. I wasn't expecting the game too look this good and run this well anyway, so you have to expect some fps issues.

One more thing, installing the game to your HDD won't improve your fps. You simply load maps faster on most games.

Also depends on your console. Heat on your CPU/GPU kills framerates.. 5 or 6 different generations of CPU/GPU sizes and heatsink types.. Smaller the CPU/GPU, and the better the heatsink (newer consoles) equals better performance. IDK about the Slim Xbox though, because I'm sure it has a lot of heat output due to the CPU/GPU being combined to one chip.. I have a Falcon (3rd generation) motherboard with the OEM ( heavy ass blocks of aluminum ) heatsinks..

Yes but the game has to render the map as your running around, and thus if you have a game that is pulled from a hard drive rather than a CD, you will see a more stable frame rate..

It doesnt make a big difference. It doesnt help the big framedrops at the top of Skyline or at the hotel part of Impact

I found an example on youtube.

Look as he walks up the stairs inside the building on skyline. This happens, even if there is no action happening at all after a couple of minutes.

I have this issue as well. When 3 or more players are battling, no matter what the map, the frame rate drops considerably.

I don't recall having this issue pre 360 patch

I'm running
original launch 360 RGB
56" Toshiba DLP
wired connection through Linksys WRT 110 router with all necessary ports forwarded and open
NAT type is open
10Mb down 1Mb up cable broadband

Neither to I, but it isnt a very noticable problem at first. Its not a gamebreaker. Its the only bad thing I can find in this game. Its just an annoying issue that could be relatively easy to solve.

In the beta and demo this wasnt a big problem for me.
