Underbarrel Attachments=USELESS?

Post » Sat Jun 26, 2010 4:31 am

The only underbarrel attachments that are even worth half a crap are Extended Mags, and maybe Hologram. Gauss Attacment? Useless. In the time it takes to land two shots from this, you could have already loaded them up with standard bullets. UnderBarrel Shotgun? COMPLETELY useless. I have not even been able to score 1 kill with it, no matter how close i am to the opponent. And by that time, i could have just done a much sweeter stealth kill. And the pump-action sequence just takes TOO long. Grenade Launcher? Why did they even put this in the game? Ive shot the damn thing so many times and only have 2 kills with it. You have to hit them dead on it seems. Where is splash damage? I dont understand what CryTek was thinking when they decided to put these attachments in the game.

I would rather useless under-barrel attachments instead of over-powered ones (MW2 Nade Launcher...)

^ This. I only use the Extended Mags attachment anyways. Bullets seem to be far more effective.

i agree, it was overpowered in mw2 when paired with Danger Close. But it would be a useful attachment in certain situations, such as 2 or 3 opponents clustered in one room. Solution? Nade em. But no... it doesnt work in this game. They shouldnt have even wasted the space putting it in there. My biggest complaint though is the underbarrel shotgun. I use it on alot of classes in MW2 And Black Ops, its very effective. I was hoping to use it on the Grendel, since its a great long range rifle, and the shotgun would make it great for close quarters as well. But nope, doesnt work:/ I mean, if they are gonna waste space, they could have at least wasted it on cheesy camos.

the grenade launcher and the l-tag do seem underpowered. i've seen 90% of my rifle grenades detonate within 2m of an enemy, some guys even survive 2 l-tag grenades exploding right next to them. it seems like you need to score direct hits to kill an enemy with a **** grenade! (of course, it could be all just lag, too - you never know in C2)
i'd double the damage but leave one one mag (l-tag).

and BTW - i ran into my first cook/oponnent using the portable microwave today. dude that thing seemed overpowered!

I totally disagreed with power of some underbarrel attachments.

The Gauss - very powerful , destroys Ceph Air Unit with 6 shots (if you don't have JAW, don't carry because of weight),
Otherwise two shot of this attachment, kills anyone even in Armor mode (Gauss bullets cuts off power to zero). I use it a lot, it is like portable sniper for me when I don't have DSG-1 or Gauss Rifle. I use assault scope to get headshots. I believe it is matter of skill to use this attachment, to be frank, it does take a lot of skill and patience to get kills with this attachment. so far I got 150 kills with it :P

The Grenade Launcher - Very powerful, one grenade only :( but direct hit is sure kill or heavy damage within 2m blast radius. Very useful when playing on Crash-Site, very fast shot, can take enemies out with surprise. Personally not, my favorite because of only one round.

Shotgun - This is definitely a bit too weak or lags, don't know which one. I don't use because I carry a Marshall instead. I need the feel of huge ass gun shove into my opponent face XD

Gauss Attachment is far too weak when directly compared to the campaign version

Gauss cuts energy, if you see a marauding Armor mode player you can essentially DOOM him.

Shoot him with Gauss, switch to bullets, kill. Not hard.

This is extremely effective against players like myself who preform well with the Heavy Machine Gun and Armor mode. I tend to get my 7 fairly quickly once I have established myself with the HMG, but a single clever player or team could Gauss me and simply put me out quickly.

The reason you svck with the Gauss is because you are using a tool to preform a weapons job. The Gauss is a tool, use it as one. I had my brother use the Gauss to save his teammates from a distance. When they get jumped by an armor mode opponent (Or are about to be jumped, more like it) you can Gauss the ambushing player and instantly put your teammate at a slight advantage. His chances go from Instant Respawn Screen to at least decent so long as he is smart enough to hear opportunity knock.

The underbarrel Gauss is pretty good for taking down Ceph gunships, 3 or 4 shots and they go down. Thats the only reason i use it

The only attachments I really use are:
*Reflex Sight
*Extend Mags
*Suppressor (sometimes)

That's it. I have no time for attachments.
