Hack free ? That's is impossible. EA/Dice thought by locking out the dedi servers files it would help prevent hacking. Well several hacks came out with the beta and then with the release version, plus the server files got leaked eventually by a GSP, or x-employee.
One thing I will say, if Crytek do decide to use Evenbalance again I hope they get the config correct this time as it seems they have pulled their socks up with new game releases. They have been very active with applying bans up for BC2 and every little helps.
Yes, hack free is impossible.
Especially since Crytek has the new CryEngine 3, there is going to be a LOT of security holes in Crysis 2 that will need patching. I expect the same level of hacking as their was in Crysis, atleast until Crytek patches up the game in the beta releases and fixes the holes in the CryEngine 3 and PunkBuster.
And if you didnt know, Crysis hacking was BAD. People joining a server and insta-killing flying across the map infinite nuking people with one shot bullets. Not good. They also found a way to hack someones IP Address and make YOU seem like you were the hacker, by having your IP insta-kill everyone in the server.
Crysis Wars was much better in terms of hacking because Crytek could evaluate the problems in Crysis and fix the holes in PunkBuster and CryEngine 2.
I expect the same level of hacking in Crysis 2 (although the hacking probably wont be as severe as insta-killing IP hacking) for the beta releases, and hopefully Crytek is much more proactive about patching up the CryEngine 3 and PB to make sure the game doesnt die out because of rampant hacking.
