I am starting to think they are gonna abandon this game...

Post » Thu Jul 22, 2010 8:51 am

Look at this forum.

Look at it hard.

Pre-release, I think mods actually answered questions.

Look at it NOW.

Problems, complaints, glitches, lag, sound problems, all filling the forum up.

Look at what they are doing now.

Nothing. 2 weeks. Nothing. No answers, nothing.

Why?

I don't know, maybe because they are gonna pull a fast one, and abandon this game?

For Us x360 users, at least..

p.s: Ain't trollling, it is what I think would happen, as there are no updates or what not for 2 weeks.

I don't think their ready to abandon ship yet, silence could mean their really working hard at fixing the problems presented on the forum and just can't get news out because of busyness.

At the very least they'll fix some of the major issues in the future to persuade people to buy a map pack later on :D .

they wont answer us as they cant, they have no idea what to say as the game mechanics of this game are BROKEN.. as when im in stealth and get shot i die almost instantly, yet when i do it to another person it takes an entire clip!

i could go on but wont bother as its pointless, its becoming a normal thing this with MP games up to its release is talk a lot of ****, hype it up but once people want answer to things they go quite and ignore there user base.

best thing for people to do is stop playing it online so it don't appear in the most XBL played games, as this will teach them a lesson!

For me crytek have trashed there own good name as i see them as one of the bad developers now, as Free radical went bust for a reason people.

As far as not answering us goes... even a "we're trying" or "thanks for the cash svckers" would be sufficient. Obviously they can't tell us exactly what's going on because that could lead to further disappointments but anything at all after 2 weeks isn't that much to ask.

And it takes an entire clip to kill someone because everyone has 1-2 bars in 90% of games. Get a game with a good host and most of the issues are resolved. So it seems that host selection is the biggest issue hurting multiplayer right now.

Oh they have news out but it is in the PC discussion. If they really wanted to show theyre doing something for the other platforms they could copy and paste into the 3 platform threads at least. THIS IS 3 STICKIES NOT 20 OR SO AS THEY SO FLAGRANTLY PLUCKED RANDOM NUMBERS FROM THEIR HEADS.

As it is, it has taken a user to run an issues/bugs report and another user to post information on the update process in more detail (copy and pasted from the CoD:BO forum)

Not even an apology has been sent out for the hours of time people have had to spend paying to test this game and report back to Crytek. We are paying to do the their work which should have been done prior to release. Clearly EA pushed to get this out earlier and it has only damaged EA, Crytek and this franchises reputation.

Agreed. I've said it before, this game should have come with a disclaimer on the cover.

- WARNING: SOME ELEMENTS OF THIS GAME ARE NOT YET FINISHED, IF YOU ARE PURCHASING THIS FOR THE MULTIPLAYER CONTENT PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL ISSUES THAT WILL NEED TO BE REMEDIATED, PLEASE TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION BEFORE PURCHASE. -

That, and some actual feedback and communication with REAL information and an HONEST apology to the section of the site that BOUGHT THE MOST COPIES OF YOUR PRODUCT BY FAR.....

Everytime I go to the PC Forums to get answers I get the stock standard "GO BACK TO YOUR FORUMS" reply from a bunch of ****' anol retentive PC jerks - JUST POST A STICKY IN EACH OF THE GAME FORUMS.

3 Stickies - 15 minutes of your time, max. And it will calm some elements of the community right the **** down...

Yup this is the exact reason that the only EA game I shall be dealing with from now on is Battlefield.

As much as games like FIFA 11, Dragon Age 2, Shift 2, Fight Night, Dead Space 2 and Crysis make me want to never buy an EA game again, DICE deal with EA well and show the player base respect and in turn have my respect.

They inform and apologise to the player base on the ingame news feed, forums and blog for all platforms if a situation ever arises and for me giving information 1st so we are clear on what is happening before getting on with it is a key selling point to comeback to Battlefield again and again. It causes less hassle and has encouraged me to purchase every piece of DLC they have, not once have they dissappointed me. They clearly put the players 1st and its helped them become highly profitable and build a large and loyal player base

Same thing happened with Flashpoint Dragon Rising back in late 2009. They released it years too early, it was unfinished, underdeveloped and those devs that once frequented the forums were never to be seen again. Not a single word after launch day except to the PC communtiy. Sounds familiar, huh?

Within 2 months nothing had been fixed although 2 payed downloads were put out for it. Less than a month later it was dead. They said they were discontinuing any support for the game (which it never got to begin with) and that they were using all the money we gave them for that game to fund a sequel.

Like de ja vu all over again with this game and it's a shame that this is what gaming's come to. It's just an overbloated cash grab using the most expensive form of entertainment and it's all too political and less about devs making games for the love of it now.

PC version of the Crysis 2 is having more problems and disappointed gamers with DX9 version game, when many people bought latest hardware to play. That's why Crytek is trying save their PC fanbase before it is lost.
Otherwise the Moderators said that Devs are working very hard to fix console problems
Console versions is having problems with multiplayer network issues, I am not very impressed with lag and random stuff that happens in the game. Otherwise when I can get good connection, it is fun than any other game available now, I am tired of armor locking in Halo Reach, or chainsawing in Gears!, I am not a fan of COD, because the multiplayer is too simple and 3 bullet kills, screw that! A game has to be unrealistic sometimes, where the you need a tons of bullets to kill a simple target. That makes action longer and fun.

the patch caused a couple of new bugs actually, so it wasn't exactly the patch we were waiting for.

I now get a screen flicker in multiplayer games, didn't happen before the patch.

But if you had this from release, wouldn't you be annoyed and frustrated that there has been almost no communication from the moderators of the forum? They have completely centered on the PC forums with PC orientated announcements...

Last time I checked Xbox was Still over 50% of the sales of this title..... We deserve better for $60 each (atleast) - which if you take the online leader board numbers of about a rough 320'000 (which doesn't account for all sales of course) you get a total combined sales value of over 19 million bucks.... and that is just a rough figure for the XBOX SALES.

320'000 x 60 = $19'200'000.00 (Cha-Ching)

And yes, I understand that Crytek/EA aren't taking the whole slice of that pie. All I am demonstrating is that the Release, Patch and Pray aproach to games development and publishing is a SERIOUS cash cow to be milked.....

I love the SP, even with the AI issues - But **** me, I didn't pay to BETA TEST the MP Content.....

I really think some direct and honest communication with the gamer community is warranted...

This is not Rebellion or Sega, this is Crytek... They aren't abandoning this. Remember that this is the first step into the multi-platform area and they are sticking true to the classic one they've always done PC. But remember since there's a PC, PS3 section and a Xbox360 section they are taking their time and gradually collecting info and trying to get a better understanding of their player base ... They are not dancing around the problems they are crunching it down to where they can fix it. And remember another good example is Valve they even have their own "Timezone (Valve time)" now. If anything this has opened Crytek's doors to developing their own. Welcome to CryTime.
Remember gamesas has been around since 2008 ;) And they will continue to do their part so don't doubt it.

Don't forget, I'm sure they haven't.

I thought this was about the near lack of communication with the Console Forums?

I'm not following these moderators through half a dozen social-networks and forum channels just to get the barest minimum of information.

And so far the gamer community has done all the hard work collecting all the known and suspected issues into lists (Killor117's EPIC LIST OF DOOM?), the people who PAID for the game are doing this work more frequently than the moderators are communicationg with us.

Shouldn't we expect just a touch more respect from the people we have given our money too? Don't take me the wrong way here, I still think the majority of issues can be resolved with time, I just want to know if that is going to happen before another title (Brink anyone?) is released that I want, and then become nearly forced take this back in for a trade in at reduced cost.

Had they been open in communicating from the start I wouldn't be as frustrated, I wanted this game, and I would have been less disappointed had there been a delay then having to wait out the patch process.

I'd also add that SOME 360 OWNERS MAY EXPERIENCE WAVY LINES AND BLOCKY FILM GRAIN IN LATER LEVELS OF SINGLE PLAYER AKIN TO A BAD CABLE RECEPTION. DON"T WORRY YOUR CONSOLE/ HD TV IS NOT BROKEN, THIS IS A GRAPHICAL GLITCH.

I would not have bought this game at release if I knew the SP would look like crap half-way through. I understand MP can be rocky but the SP?? Common.

3arc and Activision have not addressed the major lag issues of BO,they actually deny it,although its thier forums number 1 topic.
Todays game realeases are taking the piss,it seems that broken games are being released quite often,i would rather wait an extra 6 months for a working game rather than a broken one,god i miss my N64.

Are you kidding? The lag in BO is almost totally gone these days. It was piss poor in the beginning, but they've fixed it a lot since then. If the connections in Cry2 were nearly as good as Blops, I might actually be playing Cry2 mp instead of having gone back to blops.

They are improving the game. They just released a patch on March 31st that improved my connection and fixed some issues. Yes there are still issues, but you can't expect them to fix it overnight.

True, but why are these companies allowed to release a game with problems?Just because its a game,a supermarket wouldn't sell blueberry yogurt with no blueberry in it would they?

Put it this way, The silence could mean they are working hard and not sparing time to update us. Or it could mean that they are indeed resting their coffee's on X360 Crysis 2 copys.

Bungie went Silent after Halo: Reach's Release, Everyone were saying that Bungie never abandoned them and that a patch would come, 8 months later not a single patch was released for the game.
