Crytek confirms game is geared for cod/halo fans

Post » Sun Aug 08, 2010 6:53 am

Thanks for saving me $50 (maybe even $60) Crytek! By making the multiplayer beta 360 only, I now know that you are focusing on the console version of this game. I see you're trying to lure in the legions of COD and Halo fans (That's where the money is, right?), in return, Crysis fans will get a downgraded, generic shooter that copies the gameplay of your average FPS. Why not cater to your true fans? It makes no sense...

PC is supposed to have better graphics (more anti-aliasing, less blurry textures), other than that consoles seem to be on top.

Get over yourself seriously! If you were a true fan you would not care about which platform got the beta, you would want to play it no matter what! Still they did not state in any way it was exclusive for the 360, just that it currently will only be available on the 360! Did it ever come to your mind that it is the easiest platform to build a game on so maybe, just maybe, it is the most polished!?!!!!

All video games are developed on the PC. PC is the easiest to develop games for. BTW I'm not a true Crytek fan (played Crysis, thought it was OK), I signed up on these forums for the PC beta and I created this post to warn all loyal fans that the game you so blindly follow is in for the worst.

Mark MY words this game will not live up to its potential, not at-least with any console involved.

The game that needs the most polish will get the beta first. Evidently, the Xbox360 is the platform that needs the most polish. Don't be so selfish, the game is being released on several platforms and a beta for other platforms is certainly not ruled out.

Where is this beta, I have only seen a multiplayer test at the moment.
I remember reading also that SO FAR, the xbox360 is confirmed to get the beta, but the ps3 and pc is not ruled out, and that won't likely be for a few months.

I prefer to baser my judgements and opinions on what I see from official sources, and so far I see a game that is shaping up well. perhaps a few dips here and there from my perspective and from what *I'd* prefer, but its far better than what some companies would do, and its got to target a large audience to succeed. Or would you prefer crytek go bankrupt?
That's be a lot worse for gamers than a game that does not live slightly up to the expectations.

Crytek is not likely to go bankrupt any time soon. They have six studios, and the CryEngine 3 is licensed by many companies, including the developers of Aion. They also have a private studio that is licensed with the military, so they arent going bankrupt whether Crysis 2 fails or not.

I know, I was just trying to make a statement. It would tarnish their image though, which as we know, has a huge effect... Activision.
