shared screen mode? i hope so

Post » Fri Aug 27, 2010 2:18 pm

campaign of this episode is obviously for the individual player, I hope that the creators will include a massacre mode or other modes to play in split screen mode on the same console. for example cod modern warfare 2 has a single player campaign, and a modality that let you play with other three friends on the same console. and for those who do not have a great interest in online will surely be an incentive to take up the game several times.

This has been discussed in previous threads. It's been confirmed by Crytek that unfortunately there will be no split-screen functionality in Crysis2.

Currently, Crytek has said that there would be no Split Screen, Because there won't be CO-OP campaign, and Multiplayer is team oriented, so 1 vs 1 would be dull, another fact might be about the resources, since the console has to render both screens and Crysis 2 Pushes the Console Power to the limit, although the game is not yet released, so crytek might change their minds and add splitscreen

I'm pretty sure the console would explode with splitscreen.
As stated before, it's confirmed that there's no splitscreen.

It's set in New York, and I assume it's because they needed a smaller draw distance to stop the consoles exploding.
It's also 6v6.
Expect smaller maps.

Makes sense, the graphics would never be in sync.

@benchee68

So you want to play a Ego Shooter with a 360 Controller on a Pc?
If yes youre a very rare kind of player.. most people play on Pc because of the mouse and keyboard precision.

@marley legend:
There's no splitscreen because the systems can't handle running the game 2-4 times.
Nothing to do with Micro$oft or Bill Gates.

Read the whole thread please.
It's only a small bit of reading up to this point.

Although some games seem to lack splitscreen simply because the designers don't care.

For some reason; they actually removed the splitscreen from the old
Duke Nukem on XBL Arcade. That one puzzles me...
The Xbox might be a bit old, but I'm pretty sure it can handle an old Nintendo game.
Hmm...

I miss the days when split screen multiplayer was the norm. Also skirmish modes where it was you and a friend versus a team of AI opponents.
