Is anyone else getting stuck on the activation manager when running the game for the first time? I had let it run for a while then decided to restart my pc and try to see if it would get past the activation manager part. I tried looking for help in the steam forums but did not get anything useful besides verify files and re-install. I have verified the files and one was missing so it downloaded and I decided to restart the pc before I ran it again.

Once it turned back on I tried it again with same problem. I am now re-downloading (thank god for fiber optic) and am hoping to get a few tips just in-case it happens again or if anyone in the future has the same issue. Below are the steps I have gone through to fix the problem.

Verified game files: re-downloaded 1 missing file, did not resolve
Decompressed game cache: did not resolve
Rebooted pc before and after missing file download, before and after cache decompression: did not resolve
Am re-downloading game now to see if that will help: Resolved

One thing I am curious about, if the game needs to communicate to servers that are being flooded with demands that might be the problem, or my pc firewalls can be blocking the connection. To counter this I have set my pc as a dmz host on my network as well as created rules in both windows and nod32 firewalls. Will update this with results after game is re-downloaded.


Update, Rules fixed it, it allowed the connection to go through, might save some people some time.

I'm having the same problem. Bought my copy on Steam, and only the activation tool launches when I click Play. It says I activated successfully, but it won't launch the game. I have rules in place to allow it through the firewall...maybe I need to reinstall?

Same issue. I am stuck at activation manager, none of my keys work. Though my digital rights key activated at gamesas.com I don't have a key for the activation manager, there is no "crysis 2" menu on my Windows 7 box off the start menu. I can't get to a multiplayer screen of any kind. As a matter of fact I can't even get anywhere but this activation manager prompt. What is this?
