Why did you do that? Is it really that revenue from consoles is worth killing off your PC fan base? You realize that you will never again restore the trust PC gamers had in Crytek and will NOT get preorders volume this high for Crysis 3. Yes, you can promise and promise and like all you want, then make it obvious you were lying, blatantly lying, but once one has to calibrate his TV in his PC game, when one shoots a rocket into a bus front glass and it stands unscratched, when a city like New York is actually a tunnel to enable content streaming and low stress on memory and higher on bandwidth and when you have those ugly low-res textures that magically look tailored to 256MB of VRAM, well, then one does cancel a preorder and just plays a Farlight scene release.
Sad. Crysis 2 and CryEngine 3 could've been a new benchmark for engine and game experience progress, but it is just a mere shadow of what it once was.
The most funny of all is that, whilst content-lacking, a package of the leaked beta had a fully working 64-bit executable, DX11 renderer (seems so) and a fully working editor - all of which were promised and then removed for release. Will you sell DX11 renderer as a DLC? Electronic Arts made you do so?
GG and kkthxbye.
