We pay more and still get treated like sh**

Why is it us console players have to pay at least £10 more for our multiformat version of Crysis 2 (Crytek need console markets money,PC not enough) - Will we even get the free C2 Map editor,if we use the full PC editors can we transfer our work to console?
We pay extra to be treated worse!

His location says 'United Kingdom', so yeah... that wasn't too hard to find.

We pay £10 more on consoles because that extra tenner is Sony and Microsoft's licencing fees.

I disagree that console gamers get worse though. Those PC gamers are getting shafted all the time... probably why they have a massive chip on their shoulder.

games aren't cheaper it various due to the exchange rate, just 2 different currencies thats all. The Americans are used to what they pay and so are us British, i would not say that our games are at all cheap although they have dropped from 50 ponds to around 37 pounds in the past few years.

Like hyper said pc gamers get it just as bad and were absolutely shafted especially with this game, they had all the same bugs and glitches plus they didn't even allow support for dx11 to start with.

As you guys have probably noticed we are going down the same route with pc games, games are getting slightly cheaper but they are also now coming with codes that only allow one person to play online. This is going to slow the second hand and rental market for games and maybe even remove them completely one day if the games publishers decide not to release extra codes.

So to summarise exchange rates only matter if you want to buy games cross country, for example i recently bought a new headset skin for my tritton headset but could only find them on an American site. They cost me 20 bucks plus postage in british pounds thats around 12 pounds plus the 5 pound postage, so about 18 pounds in total, you could say this is cheaper but the 2 currencies are really incomparable its like me buying with carrots while there currency is potatoes it doesnt make sense and thats why they have the exchange rates.

Back to your original post. Crytek is just now expanding into consoles. It is very exciting that they are (even though I have a large amount of complaints about C2 - I still appreciate that C2 is streamlined to play on my PS3). I've read on other threads that the maps will be available to use on PS3, but the editor is for PC (like previous ones). While Far Cry Instincts did come with an editor ( a terrible game btw), CryEngine 3 is extremely complex and powerful, and I doubt PS3 would be able to handle its full power. I would bet that almost everyone who owns a PS3, also has a computer. Therefore, it's not that big of a deal that the editor is not for consoles.

The editor i mentioned was the map editor just for crysis 2 - The BIG free SDK i know wont happen on console. There is no reason for us not to have a map editor or be able to port levels from PC - Ive just got a bad feeling this wont happen and it pisses me off that in ENGLAND we pay on average £10 more than PC titles ,whilst in other countries the pricing is the same. So *** to exchange rates and sony/microsft lisencing bulll***.

Looks like bad news tho with the latest patch still doing next to nothing and with no real news on whether the scaled down C2 editor (NOt the CE3 SDK) is on on or supports console then its looking like a refund from me. Crytek have admiitted on many occasions that C2 wouldnt of happened without console.
In this case over PC we are getting shafted.
